Quitting at 19. That' awesome! I wish I was smarter than you, but obviously I wasn't! Make sure you understand how addiction works! I believe it really helps! Don't ever forget what this feeling is like, because you only want to go through it once! I remember exactly what it was like 369 days ago! Keep strong brotha!
Caving is NOT an option!

BGSU...you must be a damn genius. I knew I needed to quit when I was 19. But I let 21 years go by. You, sir, just made a great choice!!!

You've gotten great advice so far. READ, POST, QUIT...that is all there is to it. Don't worry about tomorrow, next week, next year, etc. We'll deal with them when they get here. You just focus on today...right now...this five minutes. And anyone can get through one day, right? See, you're not "quitting forever"...you're just quitting for today. Cut your quit down to a size you can deal with...just today. Quitting is done one day at a time.

Also, change your mindset...turn the tables on the Nic Bitch. Decide that YOU are going to ENJOY this shit...the worse the better! EMBRACE the suck. It is the feeling of earning your freedom. Cherish it...remember it...welcome it. Mentally tell the Nic Bitch to do her worst. Because you aren't giving in. YOU are QUIT.

Nobody gets free for the asking. You have to earn it. But, you've taken the first step...we've got your back the rest of the way. Click on the Quit Groups...not just your own, but a bunch of them. Look at all of those names...all of those bad ass quitters. And remember, they all were (or are) right where are right now. And they all would stop what they're doing to lend you a word of encouragement. Pretty cool when you think about, huh?

YOU GOT THIS, BROTHER!!! Welcome!
BG, Bean hit the nail on the head. It was nice talking to you in chat this afternoon. Stay the course and either call, text or pm me if you need to shoot the bull, vent, rage or just say "Hi." Wayne

Pat,

First - Awesome decision. Way to take back your life.

Now, if you had only been better about your choice of colleges. It is a no secret that walgreen's built there distribution center just outside of BG. What you may not know is that the center holds the worlds largest supply of penicillin, morning after pills, and contraceptives. If it wasnt for this massive supply, the STD infestation that is the BG campus would be impossible to contain.

(only half kidding about Walgreen's stock levels).

Good to see another NW Ohioan around these parts. PM me if you need anything.
The problem is not the problem.  The problem is your attitude about the problem.  Do you understand?

Draw Fire

If its too much trouble to post roll call, you could always fuck off.

Yesterday at 12 p.m. I Spat out a dip and swore to myself it'd be my last.

I found you guys and I need help. I'm over 24 hours without dip and struggling bad. Using smokey mountain snuff and drinking lots of water. any help would be great.

and what quit group should I join? and am I considered day 1 or day 2?

Thanks guys
Pat
Welcome Pat! you quit yesterday so today is your day 2. Great decision to take your life back from that poison, bro.

Whats your story? how long did you dip? when did you start? why did you decide to quit?

The first several days are the worst, of course. Be prepared for headaches, foggy brain, restlessness, anxiety, irritability. Its all part of the process of rewiring your brain to work without a drug addiction. Its a bitch to go thru but there is no easy way - you just commit to your quit, and you go thru it. see this page:
http://www.killthecan.org/your-quit/wha ... t-dipping/

Stay on this website, read the entire thing for motivation and a distraction. Look at the cancer pics, and read Tom Kern's story (he died from dipping).

If I can help in any way, shoot me a PM.

Rick

Pat,
You would be in the Pre-HOF November 13 Quit Group. The best thing you can do is brace for a shitty and foggy next few days. stock up on gum, water and fake dip. Check you PM inbox for phone numbers (one coming from me).

Understand that when you post roll that is your promise to everyone here but mostly yourself. Now post roll, be a bad ass and QUIT.

Exercise works great, binge eating may happen so be prepared. Drinks tons of water. If you go past a restroom without having to piss you aren't drinking enough. If you drive for longer than 45 minutes and don't squirm you are not drinking enough.
