Stick anything you can in your mouth to keep cancer candy out of it. Though I would suggest thinking twice before following "GMann's Guide to Battling Oral Fixation".

You'll find varying opinions...I never used any because I thought it was a bit too close to the real thing. I opted for sunflower seeds, candy, etc. get some if you think it will help. Part of what I was quitting was the disgusting look of having dip in my mouth and the whole spitting routine so...well, you get the picture.

I think it's a great idea. I used it for the first 2 weeks and it probably kept me from wanting to kill one of my co-workers or idiot drivers on the freeway. I keep a can of Smokey Mountain Snuff (decent, but a little sweet and messy as hell) in my car just in case I need it, but I haven't even thought about it at all.

Hope this helps. Godspeed to you, sir.
I appreciate the feedback Guy!

I am on day 5 of my quit. Everything has been going as expected. I have spent alot of time on the KTC site, and learned alot. I am curious about what everyone thinks about fake dip. Is it considered "cheating" to use it? Is it one step from the real thing? Should you limit it? If you do use it, what is a recommended brand. I have come to far to turn back.

Any recommendations/suggestions are appreciated

I have been dipping for the past 20 years.  I have also smoked, when I was trying to quit dipping.  It seems that for all of my adult life, it has controled me.  I have been in the army for the past 15 years, and in alot of cases, it is accepted.  I just want to fell the empowerment of beating something that has controlled my life for so long.
You posted your roll. Your quit today. Your free. Even though you can feel that bitch starting to play her games, the fog is rolling in, and your starting to feel the suck. You are still free. Oh, and we don't do much tryin, hopin or wishin around here. So you can remove that from your lexicon or save it for somewhere else. We 'do' here. Keep pushing. One foot in front of the other. You've got this. It gets way better, I promise. Your free, copenhagen doesn't control you any longer if you don't let her...
Ranger5, If you went ahead and dumped your shit today, Congrats on the BEST decision you will ever make!!!! Life is BETTER not being controlled by a f'n little can!!!!!!!!! Quitting SUCKS, PERIOD!!! BUT it is WORTH every bit of the SUCK you will go through to get FREE of that CRAP!!!!!!!!! 30+ years here of being controlled by UST and the Marlboro man and I NEVER want to go back! You can DO this one day at a time!!!

IF you have not thrown out your crap, don''t post roll until you have thrown out all nicotine products including gum!

My quit date is 22 April.  Is this the right HOF Group to be in?
Your quit date is 4/22/2012? You are not going to quit for another 3+ months?

If that is the case, then no, this is not your group. Quit groups are only for quitters who are not using any nicotine.

There is no reason it should take you 3 months to prepare to quit. In fact you, there is no better time to quit than today.

Dump your can and post day 1; do this and April 2012 is your correct group.
Yeah, that was a typo on my part. I meant I am going to quit 22 JAN, and will reach my 100th in April. Sorry about the confusion
Then yes, this is your group. But I will ask the same question. Why wait five days? What do you expect to gain from five additional days of using tobacco/nicotine other than increased chances of cancer.

Nicotine is a strong addiction. It is convincing you that you need to prepare five days to quit. But then on 1/22, there will be another reason why you cannot quit, and push your quit date back further. Trust me, it took me almost two years for me to actually commit to a quit date.

Take control of your life today and dump your can now. Tell the Nic bitch that you are in control.

(Note: Do not respond to this in the April 2012 Thread unless you are quit. This thread is only for people currently quit. I will copy this post into your introduction page.)

Congrats Ranger! You have come to the right place. It will not be an easy road, but you will be strong and get this done. Get on the right quit group and begin posting roll, which is where you will make the promise to not use nicotine today. Take it one day at a time and get through the first few days where you will be in the fog. It does get better after those days. Make connections and call on your quit brothers to help you through tough times. You can do this and you have now made the first step!

I quit with you.
Day 1: 10/18/11

You are in the right place brother. If you are ready to get rid of this stupid controlling piece of crap then join us! Throw out whatever you have and don't dip/smoke today. Then everyday you post roll. Roll is a promise to everyone else on here that we will not use nicotine today. We only quit for one day so don't try to overwhelm yourself and look too far ahead.

The greatest feeling I have had in a long time is being able to say no to dip. Be a badass and quit today!
