Thanks for the replies guys. Except for the kook talking about counting lozenges. He can fuck off.
And the box says how many there are, bitch.
So does this mean you tossed them?
No. I am going to use them.
While I understand the concept that using them is prolonging the pain a bit, I also see the benefits of being a little more even keeled for a few weeks while adjusting to the psychological aspects, then going full blast at that point.
Anyway, I don't get the hostility towards them. Quitting has to be as painful as possible or it doesn't mean as much?
Ok, hopefully this is the part where my past mistake can be paid forward to YOU. I'm going to bump my intro thread. Read it from the very beginning. I also had the nicotine candies but thankfully I refused to use them.

Some of the badass quitters in YOUR thread also posted in MY Intro thread (Julud007, Pinched, Derk, Srans, Zam, Ron Cross, et.al) They ALL recommended for me to trash the stash. They also sent me PM's warning me and trying to reach out to me. I was an IDIOT!!! A very fortunate idiot but still an idiot, nonetheless. I deserved every negative comment in my intro. I later went back and thanked the guys for caring enough to chew on my ass.

Dump those nic candies. Destroy them. I will quit with you. Not wanting to toss 160 is the same as not wanting to toss 40, 20, 10, 5, etc. It's in your head.

Oh, btw, is it harder to quit cancer or quit nicotine? Quite a few of us have had cancer scares, and others still have had to face the worst of it.

Listen to these guys. Again, I'm nothing special, but I KNOW you can learn from my mistake if you will merely take a little time to read my intro thread for YOUR benefit.
It would do you well to begin listening. Somewhere in you there is a quitter,, i know it. That's the person I'm trying to reach. I would like to meet this person.

I spoke of your comment of 160 lozenges because i see where i use to be. I remember shaking that can to see how much was left. I knew how much was left by just the feel. How Sad...

It wasn't long ago i wondered if another delivery method would work. I was willing to try anything. Thank God i found this site and learned the truth. You can do this,,, you just don't know it. Start reading and listening. Lot of quit going on here. I love my new life. What do you say you take yours back? Stop believing the lies.

The poison sucks. I hate it. I hated it this morning, I hated it at noon, I hated it at supper and I hate it tonight. I enjoy hating it so much I'm going to wake up tomorrow and start over hating it. I quit with anyone that wants to hate it with me.

This is a NO NICOTINE site. No exceptions, no excuses, no bullshit. This site is for bad ass quitters. If you want to eat nicotine candy, then get lost. But if you want to get in the ring and go toe to toe with the Nic Bitch and earn your freedom one day at a time, then flush your stupid fucking nicotine candy, sack up and join us.

Nobody is going to do this for you. YOU HAVE TO DECIDE TO BE FREE. I can't wait to be quit with you. But you have to take the first step.

can you asplaine what these 'sycological aspects' are so as we can help you under stand why you aint doin your self any favers by usin these candys?
You are not quitting if you continue to use nicotine. You are trading one delivery method for another. Don't fool yourself into thinking this is a legitimate plan. It's a plan that will lead straight back to well a little pinch won't hurt.

Are you a man of your word? Is making a promise something you value?

We have all done this. Proof it can be done. You can do it too. Post your word. Keep your word. Repeat.

Make it happen.
You will be in the same place whether you quit today or wait until you suck on your 160 lozenges.

You body will be craving a nicotine fix. I got a neighbor that has been chewing nicotine laced gum for the entire 10 years I've known him. That guys would smoke if he didn't have emphysema. Now that guy is a kook.

We have done all done this and it is the best route. Cold turkey. Toss that crap and quit now. Otherwise, let me know how long your 160 lozenges will last and check back when you want to quit.
If you are treated roughly it's because we care and because we have all been through it man. I recommend you sack up, toss the nicotine and get to quitting with us the KTC way. It takes a badass to quit nicotine, to give your word not to use today and keep it. You see, nicotine pisses us off and we know that addicts like ourselves will bullshit and justify to keep using. We use tough love and accountability to shake the poison's hold and earn our freedom.

That's just how we roll here, I hope you step up with us, if not than you will be missing out on the sweet taste of freedom!
Man, Starvin the Bear, if I had started out 29 days ago with nic candies I would still be on day one now. It was suggested to me by a professional that I should consider nic replacement therapy. It told them after a week that I never used them, and was doing fine without.

These guys posting back to you right now are your best friends you could ever have, but only if you want to quit. When it comes down to it you have to decide not to use any nicotine today. That's all. I a, a newbie here but you have to do this way or it won't work! Good Luck starving the bear with the lozenges!!! He won't ever go hungry again!!!

Gentlemen- I looked at this site for a while during my last quit. I don't remember how long it lasted, or why I started again. But I know I didn't last long, and had no good reason to start again.
Been chewing Kodiak for 20 years. I chew like a madman. Every time I quit I come back chewing even harder.
I chew right before bed, and then stay up a while longer to have another.
First thing in the morning I throw in my dip dump. (How do people crap without chew?)
Then it's relentless chewing all day.
But I can't do this shit anymore.
Thought maybe if I posted here, I would stay stronger. My wife can't stop me, and apparently it's taken 3 years for my kids to get me to wise up enough to really consider turning my back on chew.
I have decided to cheat and am using 4mg lozenges sprinkled in with hard candy.
I guess I am not officially quit until I exhaust this supply of nico replacement candies. About 160 left.
Til then I am going to be in limbo.
Dude! First, I want to commend you for recognizing that you are a slave. That is the first step in the process, so it is good that you have made I that far.

Unfortunately, that is where the congratulations stop. You need to change 3 things before you really quit.

1. Mindset. You haven't quit before, you have taken little breaks in the past. This time, when you are ready, you are gonna quit. You must change your mindset to reflect this very key change.
2. Goal. Your goal is to be quit for you. Not for your wife. Not for your kids. For you. You have to want this more than you have ever wanted anything, and you've got to be ready to dig in and fight for it.
3. Approach. Take nicotine out of the equation for a minute. Let's say you were an alcoholic looking to quit. And you came to our esteemed group and posted that "I drink 1.75L of vodka every day, but I'm looking to quit! From here out I'm going to drink 1.0L of gin until I run out (30 bottles.). Wish me luck!" This is addict approach, not a successful one.

Spit out the losenges. Flush them. Rid you house if all poison. Change your mindset. Establish your goal. And goddamn quit!

I am a few days short of 300 days of freedom from the bear here. I set myself free in Christmas Eve 2012 after 25 years. If I can do it, you can do it. The people on this site will dig in their heels and pull/push you along, but you gotta be ready for the push. Until them, you'll be drinking gin and tonics.

I won't go into telling you how every aspect of life is markedly better without kodiak. I think you know that. This is probably the hardest thing I've ever done, and probably the most personally rewarding. You can do this, provided you un-mind-fuck yourself. Sorry for the bluntness, but you get what I'm saying. Let us know when you are ready. We will help you. And you can do this.
Welcome  all the best to you when you decide to really get this done. Listen to W2W, he knows what he's talking about in this, he's managed to drag me along this far. It's possible to be completely quit. I'm 58 days in, after nearly 20 years myself. My whole adult life. That sounds like a real long time  it is. So healing won't happen overnight, but it can start now.

All the lozenges are going to do for you is prolong the agony  suffering of the nic withdrawal. THey'll seem like they're helping, but in the end you're not getting enough to satisfy, yet you're getting enough to not face up to the symptoms. It's too much  not enough all at the same time. You're starving the bear just as you've put your screename down,  prolonging the pain. Rip that bandaid off quick  I promise it does get better.  yes you'll have all the help from everyone on this site that you could possibly imagine.

Once you can dump the lozenges, go find your Jan 14 group,  post roll. I trust you know how this works once you decide to come out of limbo  join us.
I can't add to much to all these fine words from people who know how to quit.

Question! 160 nicotine candies? Did you like,, count them right before this post? How accurate are you? Just wondering, maybe you need to count again, you could be off a little. Maybe you need to separate them in one of them little daily pill boxes. That way you can have the same amount everyday.

Another question! How do them candies taste? Are they flavored like mints or lifesavers. I've never tried them. I can tell you how they would taste to me though. Like SLAVERY and DEATH!!!

Man up and quit bro,, stop the madness. 160 candies left!! Look at your self. This addiction has got you counting nicotine candies. Dig deep and and let's do this for real. No more stoppages. Let's really quit. Your move!!
Do or Do Not...There is No Try.
Cancer will not be gentle. Cancer will be harsh and violent, therefore you need to grow a big pair and man the fuck up and be who you are suppose to be. YOU were not born with the poison in your mouth! Were you?
Do it Today. Then do it again Today. and before you know it you will "be quit" one day at a time....after all, is there really any other way? For me it's the KTC way or Death. I choose Freedom and Life! You can too be free and live your life like you know that you can.
Cheers.
You got it straight from the bad assed quitters above, and all I can add is for you to read everything on this website so as to educate yourself about the poison. Start with the welcome center and then read some intro threads from start to current. You will see that all of us nicotine addicts have very similar stories, and that quitting is best done today. Get through day 1 and you can do it again on day 2.

Cheers.
Keeping my jaw and tongue...I like them.
It's poison I tell ya, You wouldn't drink Liquid Drano, would ya?

I don't know if I could add anything that would help you at this point. When you are really tired of being the little bitch to nicotine, throw the shit where it rightfully belongs, join our little band of fighters that is over 16,000 members strong, get involved and post roll. Until then, covet your candy and enjoy the regrets. Come on back when you are ready to take charge of your life. We are quitters, not procrastinators.
