Thanks for the extra nudge fellas.  I posted my first "roll call" post in the February 2012 HOF section (November 2011 quitters) just now, and plan on continuing to do so.
:) Shout if you need any help. I bet you feel a weight of your shoulders don't you?
Nicely done Oly. Welcome to the suck. Hollar if you need anything.

Awake... as has been mentioned, mind games are starting but having a community of people who remind me why I want to quit (and that I can return that favor for) is a HUGE help. Today is day 4, so the stuff should be completely out of my system. I pledge to stay nicotine and tobacco free today.
The "fog" seems to be improving quite a bit as well. Plus I realized in the first three days that my temper was EXTREMELY short. That has improved as well, to the point where I don't think of it as a concern anymore. (though I'm still getting headaches somewhat- although I'm not PACIFYING my life by plopping in a dip at the slightest hint of stress...I'm owning up to it...tired of spending $$$ on something that's bad for me, gives me terrible breath, could potentially make me lose a tooth, jaw or even kill me.
Sorry for the rant....It's day 4 no nicotine for me and I think at this point, my brain is clear of the nicotine, but the process of "re-wiring" itself and adapting to all the oxygen rich blood is beginning. The "mind games" as listed.
I pledge another tobacco free day today. :-)

I decided to finally join this forum for some accountability to my quit.
Accountability. That's such a powerful word. You know what else is powerful? Putting your name down that you quit today. Best part of my day without a doubt. I get up and say to the world "I quit today. I own today. I am my own man."
:)
That's so simply put but SO POWERFUL:

I own today. I am my own man.

No, I am not going to let a weed make decisions for me. Think about that, how many times have we NOT been able to decide for ourselves? All day every day for the last MANY years. But not anymore. I posted roll. I am a man of my word. I own today, I will not waste it, I will not waste my life. You hear that, Today? I own you.

Olympian,

Post roll--post your promise and then keep it. Once you post roll you are a member of the brotherhood. There are thousands of sucessful quitters here to help---all we ask for is your honor to be given by posting your promise not to use.

post roll in february.

Bout to go to sleep 3rd night dip free
« on: November 17, 2011, 04:24:00 AM »
Many times in the past on and off, with chemical help (lozenges) and without...this time cold turkey. I have successfully gotten through an entire 3 day period (well, once I wake up tomorrow I guess) so the physical part is up.
I decided to finally join this forum for some accountability to my quit. I have been successful at times quitting in the past but what made me cave was not being firm in certain social situations (unfortunetaly, there are a good handful of people in my social circle that are...dippers) . I'm going to have to avoid situations where I might be tempted to dip, and for those that seem unavoidable, I'll need to bring sunflower seeds + gum to keep my mouth occupied. Challenging as hell, but I already feel my brain functioning so much clearer with NO nicotine flowing through it. Wish me luck and I will do the same for you all. Thanks for reading.
