Thanks, Spuds! Feels great! I need to get my gameplan down for roll call on the weekends. Usually, after Friday night, I try to put the laptop (and work) away for the weekend. I've got an iphone, so I'll play around with that and see if I can post that way. If not, I'll just drag out the laptop for 2 minutes.
This is what I do, first thing in the morning, the morning poo... Post roll on phone! Done first thing:
And practive today on your phone, I would say 80% of KTC does it from their phones...
And the rule is, they only way to mess up roll is to not be on it!!!

Instructions for Posting with a Phone

(1) hit quote.
(2) go to the second text box.
(3) hold your finger on the text until an option box appears. Choose "cut all".
(4) go to the top text box (which is empty) and hold your finger there. A text box will appear and you choose "paste".
(5) add your name to roll call
(6) tap on "add reply" below bottom box
(7) Stay Quit
Ok...I think even this dummy can handle that! Thanks!
You doing great brother! Like your attitude! Text a brother they will make sure you're on Roll! Damn proud to be quit with you today my friend!
Tobacco is so addictive it took me a year after a massive heart attack, in which doctor confirmed caused from dipping to finally put a lid on the bitch! ODAAT EDD

Quit is strong in THIS one.

Matt... I respect your quit start. And thanks for your help in introductions.

Being scared is good. We are scared because of past failures while we were alone.

Now with technology we are really never alone.... You have support 24/7!

Load some additional digits for quick texting.
I sent you mine if you need em.

Just today.
People or Chemicals
I quit with you today.
Rawls 220
Thanks Rawls! Feeling strong today, but who knows what tomorrow holds. I'll worry about that tomorrow.

Yes...scared/aware/respectful of how hard this is, and how easy it is to slip up. I've slipped up before, plenty of times. But like you say...this time I'm not alone. That's what is making it different this time. I'm not quitting alone, and that makes a HUGE difference.

Thanks for your support, Rawls!

Matt
Saw you on roll, that is awesome! Make sure you post on the weekend, and have a weekend plan as well...
If you ever can't get to a computer text a me or another quit brother to post your promise

Matt great intro. I dipped Kodiak from age 15 to age 42....I too hid it from everyone...work family, friends. If I can give you any advice it would be this. Come clean. Tell your family, tell your co-workers, tell your friends. Embarrassing...probably, but beneficial in many ways.
First, just like any addict admitting you are an addict is often cathartic and usually the first step in ending your abuse. Believe me, you are an addict of one of the most addictive substances on Earth (treat it that way)
Second, when you start acting like a douche to everyone around you the first two weeks of your quit, they'll know why.
Third, accountability. The more people who know you used to dip....the more people who will notice if you cave. That adds to accountability.
Lastly, you have been living a hidden life from your loved ones. By coming clean you can live an honest life. You hid your dipping like a coward. There should be nothing to hide with a quit. It's both an honorable and brave thing your are starting to embark upon. It will test you day and night, and there will be countless times you will come real close to caving. Making it through that trial by fire deserves recognition, and by being honest, you will be making a clean break from the addict.

Good luck. You can do this.

Sorry I just read your last paragraph. So scratch number 2 above. If you are being a douche now....then your just a douche.
You got this. You absolutely have to do this for you. I'm a cop on the road all day and I thought that would be my biggest hurdle. I grabbed a huge bag of sunflower seeds, every now and then I feel an urge and I throw a mouthful in. I also have become fairly active here. Get involved. Get some numbers. We are all here to help with you. I quit with you today!
Every person that has replied to you is bad ass. They know how to quit.

You know, I could have written your intro too. I joined on day 16. 25?years of hiding with Kodak. 913 days ago I found freedom. With the support of people like the ones that have responded to you - you are gonna find a freedom like you have never known. You are really gonna like the new you.

If I can help shoot me a pm. If I can do this - you can.
Matt some badass S. O. B up in here trying to stir you the right way. 38 year slave, 178 day's later only with the help from my brothers and sisters here I'm enjoying my freedom one day at a time! Post roll we've all tried quitting numerous times by ourselves only to fail miserably everytime! I quit with you today!
pab1964...I'm blown away by the support that these bad ass vets are showing this newbie. Wouldn't be on day 19 without KTC. It's giving me the confidence I need to say "Today I'm not going to dip."
Matt, I know its early but I feel really good about the quit you are building. You seem to have the right attitude to win this battle. You are involved and are owning your quit. Well done! Keep doing what you're doing!
I appreciate that, rdad. It's definitely early. Even though I feel strong and determined today, I know there are going to be some really challenging days ahead. Do I worry about whether or not I'll make it? Absolutely. For now, I just worry about today...and I know I'm going to win today. I'm sick and tired of this shit on so many different levels, and never want to go back.

Stillamarine, so far, so good! Haven't had any long days in the car yet, but I feel more equipped to handle it now than ever. I'll probably make a stop for seeds just as insurance. I'm going to plan on staying active here too...I can honestly say that I wouldn't be on day 19 without it.

I hear ya, Dagranger. The more people who know, the bigger my support system is. I appreciate your support. I imagine the feeling of coming clean is pretty liberating too. It's been an 8,000 lb gorilla on my back for a long long time.

Matt -
Way to go brother, you've had 18 solid days, and you're having another victory today.

I'm in the same boat right now: I'm geographically separated from my family for several weeks; nobody to catch the sneaky ninja. I've come close to caving to the bitch a few times today, but held it together. Now, every time I'm feeling the urge, I'll be thinking of you.
Thanks Charge! Absolutely...if you think about going ninja again, think of me. Chances are I'll be having the same battle in my head. Don't let me down, and I won't let you down.
