Thanks for all the support guys!  What does "posting roll" mean?  Kind of confused about that.
Posting roll means you promise your fellow addicts that you're going to keep the cancer causing poison out of your yapper for the whole damn day. We post early, every fucking day. We honor our promise every single minute because your life is worth it and you have become a man of your word.
CopeSlave, where are you? Your intro stated "I am utterly and completely convinced I will never put another chew of tobacco in my mouth. My wife is just simply amazed at that. I don't know how I know, but I just know." Why don't you get started by posting roll. June Quit Group is getting strong so don't let us down.

Yep, it is much more than just a name on a list. By signing my name there, I promise to all the guys in my HOF group, as well as every single quitter on KTC, that I will not consume any nicotine for 24 hours.

Think of it like this. I know in my heart that I can't quit nicotine for the xx years of my life. That is an overwhelming thought and causes too much stress (triggers) for us addicts. No sirree, can't do it. But, I tell you what....... I can manhandle most anything for 24 hours. So, I'll promise to stay clean today, and we'll meet back here tomorrow to discuss it again. How about that?

This daily routine works:
1. Post roll.
2. Keep your promise of no nicotine for 24 hours.
3. Utilize any means necessary to accomplish #2.
4. Repeat.

It takes less than a minute when you get the hang of it. To me, that is a reasonable daily cost to save my life.

See you here tomorrow.

You are going to be in the June Quit Group (Hall of Fame is 100 days from your day 1)

Posting roll is here: Post Yo Roll (June 2013)

Every day you make the singular 24 hour pledge to be nic free. The instructions are in the hyperlink but in short:

Hit Quote on the latest reply. Click inside the Quote box. Hit Ctrl+A (select all) , then Ctrl+X (Cut), then click in the reply Box above and hit Ctrl+V (paste) and add your name under the upper gorup (the newb quitters/you can tell by the smaller days of being quit)

Justin,

Congratulaitons on the progress!!

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm early into mine and there is just no desire or want. Just dealing with the after effects of having done it,gotten addicted, and now not using it.

And I bought a bunch of fake too but surprisingly...haven't really used it much.

Keep it up!

Hello everyone. This site is a godsend. I do not know how or why it happened, but it was like a light switch went off in my head, and I knew it was time to quit. I'm 28 years old, been dipping Copenhagen snuff the last 6 years, and Skoal Wintergreen original the 5 years before that. I finally decided to kick the can.

I am now almost to 72 hours. At 6:00 pm tonight I will officially hit 72 hours. I went to Wally World and bought me a couple of cans of Smokey Mountain, but I am even trying my hardest to not use that stuff either. Mostly for driving and after my morning coffee, because those are the two worst cravings I can get.

My dad is 50 years old, and he has been dipping since he was about 18. My grandfather is 72, and he has been dipping/chewing since he was a young man. My dad's brother chews, along with my younger brother. As you can see, it's very a much a family thing....and a terrible thing it is. I decided one of us needs to step up, put our big boy pants on, and kick the can down the road. I for one am sick and tired of being a slave.

I am utterly and completely convinced I will never put another chew of tobacco in my mouth. My wife is just simply amazed at that. I don't know how I know, but I just know.

Justin - congrats on a great decision and making it three days!

I'm almost 5 years quit and I'm still not convinced that I'll NEVER use tobacco again. However, I am 100% certain that I will not use tobacco today. I've posted roll and given my word.

One day at a time. You can only live in the present.
