Glad my brother-in-law told me about this site, but wish he'd done it before tonight. After nearly 25 years of chewing/dipping (started with chewing tobacco in the hay fields, progressed to Cope and it's cheaper cousins), I'm now 56 days into the quitting process- the longest I've ever made it.
I've been a chain dipper for years, and working fire/EMS for the last 14 years hasn't helped with that. I know I should know better being in that line of work, but chew has been my stress relief for at least that long, and I've had one in nearly every waking hour.
Dad was recently diagnosed with oropharangeal cancer and pushed me to quit. Since I promised my grandpa I'd quit smoking when he had lung cancer and managed to keep it, I figured I could manage this promise.
