It's sad to see so many who fail to make it past the first day or two. It will nt affect my quit however because I am doing this for myself and only myself. Quitting must be a personal choice and one not forced upon you. The moodiness is something that almost prevented me from quitting again. I was an asshole and I didn't see it. In the past I didn't know what the hell was going on. This time around I am much more prepared. Posting Roll has helped way more than expected, chatting with others about what they are going through is a great way to vent without taking it out on the family. I feel sorry for those that cannot stay quit and hope they find it in themselves to rejoin the group.

Copen to go fully in with us here at KTC, you need to post roll. That is your promise to us and yourself that you will not use nicotine. If you are a man of your word and have a pair then you will not use after making that promise to us and yourself. Here is the link on how to pst roll: index.php?showtopic=50 Don't worry if you fuck up, someone will fix it and you will eventually figure it out.

I know what you mean about getting a little snappy, but try not to take it out on the wife or family. You will some just because we are human, but that is what we are for, come here and vent, get in live chat and vent. Nothing you can type on here will make me lose any sleep. Also get your wife involved in this, there is a page on KTC for your spouse to read up on and I suggest you provide her the link. You get buy in from the wife and it strengthen's your quit. Stay on the quit train and post roll today with the June group.

Thanks everyone for the support and ideas.
Made it through today without the nicotine.
Got pretty snappy with the wife today while installing a frigging patio door
For a customer and we haven't spoke now for several hours.
I didn't really understand what I said until after the fact that I was a complete doosch bag.
I felt a little disoriented/ tipsy today and almost said the hell with it and bought a can.
All I can say is dont start the nicotine.
Chewed gum all day, not being a gum chewer my jaw muscles are sore.
Didnt notice it until a few minutes ago when I went to eat my sandwich.
This evening will be a test, but I deceived im going take murry my newfy
Pup for a walk.
It's a new day tomorrow will post and update in the morning.
When I wake up I plan on still being a quitter!
Honestly never thought I'd be proud to say that.

Welcome Copen! I'm currently on day 4 and I wish I could tell you the last three days have been fun. They haven't been but listen to these guys...the advise is solid.

1. I've went through a bag of life saver candy a day. I know its not sugar free but sugar is better than that cancer dirt I've been putting in there. I have only had 2 pieces of candy today...so this is starting to go down.

2. I didn't understand the water that everyone was pushing but I tried it and it did help flush me out and alleviate the symptoms greatly. Plus, it helped being "fidgety" and keeping my mouth busy.

3. I've ran every morning...jumping out of bed is my biggest crave of the day. I jump on a treadmill and grind through it. Plus the exercise helps me mentally.

4. I don't care if I gain a few lbs...I take the $3 I would have used on dip and I buy a McDonalds Shamrock Shake to reward myself for winning the day.

Just take it one hour at a time. It gets better...at day 4 I feel so much better already and the craves are there, but I'm able to tell them "Go F yourself!"

Welcome!! Just a few quick points about quitting with KTC

1. Learn how and post roll every damn day, no excuses and no bullshit. This is your promise not to use nicotine in any form for the next 24 hours. Keep your promise and repeat daily!

2. Get to know people in your quit group, ask for some numbers when you post. Use those numbers when necessary

3. Get into chat if you can and get to know these folks here. We are all going through quitting in all different time frames. Experience of other quitters is key!!

4. Exercise in any form should be done as much as possible, as well as drinking as much water as possible....this can help with weight gain and cravings

You can do this but you have to want it badly and commit to the program 100%
Quitting every damn day since October 21, 2013

All right,
Tried to quit about a year ago but it didn't stick.
Couldn't kick it while drinking, now 45 days sober its time to
Quit chew.
Never able to make more then a few days when I was drinking.
Frigging beer with no chew was unbearable.
Drank for about 10 years but the last 3-4 were getting out of control.
Chewed now for about 8 years and have worked my way up to sometimes a can a day.
Chews in from daylight till bed so this stuff has to go.
I'm in need of alternative fake dip to help curb the need of something in my lip.
Chewed cope long cut, wanted something similar taste or texture etc.
Anybody recommend one please?
Last time I tried to quit I got a lot of positive support from family,
But I was also told I was a moody S.O.B!
Anybody have alternative ideas to help with the grumpy's and frigging eating like a horse?
It's time to quit!

Thanks for the help in advance,
Just in case the inner hulk comes out, Ha ha.

Lot of points to hit. First congrats on sobriety. Now why are you quitting what is your true motivator? Why do you want a fake that is close to taste and feel of cope? I understand the oral fixation. I was a 40 + year cope user and I used smokey Mountian in quitting. As far as being grouchy, you will be, but bring it here. That is one of the reasons we are here, we've been there and can take it, so post roll and bring it on!
You should pull the plug on the nicotine right now if you haven't already done so. Just cut the cord and burn the dangling rope. You don't need nicotine.

Hunker down through these withdrawals with candy, sunflower seeds,  gum. Order some fake chew online. Drink a shit ton of water. And just ride the bitch out.

Have your wife read the spousal support section on here.

And just immerse yourself in this website. Read everything on the forum, HOF speeches, intro pages, roll pages, etc.

You can do this brother. Just jump into the quit and don't let any B.S. excuses stop you. You can do it!

Unfortunately, the grumpy times will still come, regardless of what you use to help quit. That's what this place is great for. If you have to yell/scream/bitch at something/someone, come on here and do it.

As far as looking for alternatives, go to the killthecan.org site and look under "Your Quit" and click on smokeless alternatives.

Smokey Mountain isn't bad. I used their pouches.

Try sugarfree gum or candy to keep from eating constantly.
