Kodiak, I feel your pain as I too was an excuse maker. I chewed Kodiak for 26 years and I am on day 5 of my quit. How do I know this time is different? Because i want to do this for myself and not for anyone else, I also have looked myself in the mirror and realized what a pathetic little bitch I was giving into my cravings time after time. Enough is enough for me, im taking back control and the Nic bitch can suck my dick. I am here for you if you want to talk but please respect the rest of us in the community and quit everything today, cold turkey. It is going to suck balls but by posting roll every morning and just fighting one day at a time with this brotherhood, you CAN do it.

Proud to quit today with you.

Well, I made this post expecting to get some feedback about the white patch and then go along my merry way with my nicotine gum. But you guys are 100% right. I need to quit all forms and get this done. I will come back after I see the doctor and do the roll call, etc. without the nic juice or gum Thank you.
No reason to wait till next week to quit, now works just fine.

Thank you for the reply. Point taken and understood.

However, I've been through this cycle of quitting and relapsing too many times to count and I'm not rocking the boat - this is the first time I've made it this long without tobacco. I thank G*d every day I don't put that s**t in my mouth anymore. I know it's not a real 'quit' but I'm proud of myself and will continue to fight the fight. I starting vaping at 24 mg and leveled down to 1.5 mg, like I said it's my system, it works, and I haven't put dip in my mouth for 60 days.

I suppose the gum and vaping could be irritating that spot in my mouth, just surprised one of those showed up unexpectedly.
Kodiak,
We quit cold turkey here, get rid of the gum and vap, destroy all cans and stashes. This process and accountability works, we are all addicts here. I chewed for 18years.
After you promise not to use nicotine (gum and chew) do the following:
Check out the welcome page: forum/55560/
Post your promise here: topic/11248831/27/#new

Your mouth takes a while to heal, it will only get better. Proud to quit with you

I understand that, but you are a slave to nicotine.

We have all tried other methods, and none work like this place. Cold turkey and some good old-fashion internet interaction seems to be working for many here.

I'm no doctor, and you should definitely have it checked to make you feel better, but my experience was similar.

Keep us posted and when you decide to stop all forms of nicotine, come back and post roll.

First off, you should quit it all now. No more nicotine and get over to November and post roll. You will be glad you did.

I had a similar experience and had a "white patch" checked out a month or so after I quit. Thankfully, mine was nothing and was just part of the healing process and I was irritating it using fake stuff and or candy.

Are you using anything for the oral fixation that may be causing the irritation?

I hope for the best on your visit.

Intro and White Patch
« on: July 28, 2015, 02:20:00 PM »
Hello, I'm new to the site, first post.

I quit using smokeless tobacco May 29, 2015. I dipped Kodiak for 20 years, then switched to Grizzly pouches for 3 years. So a user for a total of 23 years. I have been relying on nicotine gum and vaping for NRT. I currently use 4mg gum and 1.5 mg juice. I'm quitting vaping this weekend. After I level off will then work towards 2 mg nicotine gum. It's my system and has worked so far.

Anyway, so it's been 2 months since quitting dip and this past weekend I noticed a soreness in my mouth where I held my dip. Today I woke up to find a white patch in that spot. Now I'm no stranger to these white patches, I've had them off and on for years, I'm just a bit concerned/confused as to why I'd get one two months after quitting. My mouth has healed fairly well, it's pink again and almost smooth again (no more deep ridges). I have an appointment next week to get it checked out. Just want to see if anyone on here had thoughts or experience with this. Thanks.
