Well, went to make my pledge for the day. Screwed that up, but made the pledge nonetheless. It went under the support from other bad ass Quitters, rather than the new bad ass Quitters. I'll get it dialed. And I'll keep on it!!

I'm ready to do this.  I just need to get started with a group.  I've read over the information in the Welcome Center.  Just need to get the info as to how the group works.  Can you assist there?

And don't worry, if you fuck it up it's not the end of the world, the important part is posting your name, day and promise in the July 13 group each day, do it early and make it important to you!
Like Mich said don't worry about messing things up someone will fix it. It gets easier with time, even for us old guys, lol! Check out your inbox (1) I left you a personal message earlier today.

Let me drop some knowledge on you. The Diesel way...

Look up on this page and to the left a bit. Look for the little blue circle with the white arrow in it. Follow to the right a tad and click on "community".

From there choose "Quit Group". Skip the top portion and go down to the bottom and find...

Pinned: Pre-HOF July 2013 Class. Click on it. This is your group and these are your people. There's not many in your group yet, but there will be. There's no "join" button to ciick. Every morning you navigate your way back to this group and post your promise not to use for the day.

Do this by finding the page that says July Quit Group in big bold red letters it will also show the date and in smaller red it will read :

New Bad Ass Quitters: place your name and promise not to use nicotine in any form today below here.

You will then see a list of peeps in your group. I think there is only 3 so far...#1Idiot, Vertex, and Paco84. What you do next is go up to the top right corner of the page and hit the "quote" button.

Now it gets a little tricky but not too bad. Follow me...

After you hit quote you will see one big empty box and below that you will a box with a ton of text in it. Take your mouse and move your cursor into the bottom box full of text and click once with the left click button (can be anywhere in the box). Once your blinky cursor is in the bottom box full of text, click the RIGHT button on you mouse and chose "select all" all the text in that bottom box should now be highlighted. Once it is you hit the right mouse button and select "cut". All the text in the bottom box should now be gone.

Now move to the upper box, click the right button on your mouse again and chose "paste. all that text should now appear in the upper box. Find the last person in your groups name and days quit and put your cursor next to it, hit enter and then type in your name and days quit and any little thing else you wish to add like: rockymtnquit-Day 1. The Diesel sent me!

Once you do that hit the "add reply " button and you successfully posted roll.

Repeat this daily and it will get much easier...I promise. Also your balls will grow to 5,000 times their normal size.

I've read through the Welcome Center. Perhaps I'm a bit naive here, but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do next, in terms of getting in a group.
Read the link in my previous post for directions, if you're wondering what group is yours, you'd be n July 2013, that's when you'll hit 100 days nicotne free. Go to the quit groups thread and look for July 2013.

I want the last dip that I put in my mouth to be the last one. It's really tough for me to admit, but I've been doing this since I was 17...and I'm now 54. Can't tell you how many times I've tried to quit. And if I don't, I'm certain that very bad things are going to happen. I was recently told that my blood pressure is going up and bordering on high. I'm sure that this has something to do with this horrible habit. I'm a serious athlete and do all that I can to help myself by working out and eating well, yet here I am, killing myself with this. I'll do what it takes this time...with some support. I look forward to day 1 !!
54 isn't a record here, November 12 had a quitter who's in his 80's! WT is about your age too and is a hell of a quitter. If you haven't read the welcome center link (pink, upper left) click on it and read everything there. I know you can do this because we all have and I can guarantee you are not the most addicted guy here - just wait till you find some of the crazy stories (some of them well sound like you wrote them)!

Just came across this site and I need it. Too many years of this, the worry that goes with it and the embarassment of letting it control my life. Am I to assume that by posting this introduction, this is my group?
start by reading everything in the welcome center (the pink link in the upper left) That explains how the site works and what you're expected to do, it's not a tough read and it doesn't take too long. If you still have questions post them up here after you finish the read. Feel free to throw a pm my way too, I'll answer anything I can.
