Welcome  congrats JPG! Sounds like you've got a lot of good determination to get going right at the start. When the going gets tough though, 100 days out will feel like forever, especially when you don't have many days under your belt. But it is possible, just focus on one day at a time. As always PM if you need more numbers.

I have decided I am done with this beast of a habit and after 15 years giving up the pinch between the cheek and gum! I've tried in the past to quit with no avail, but I am determined to stick it out and and get through this! My 11th wedding anniversary will be at the 101 day mark and I am going to make it dip free until then and for the rest of my life! I look forward to hearing from all the others folks out there that have fought this battle and continue to fight it and hope I can provide support to you as well as reap the support that you may have to offer!

JPG,
First of all congratulations on making a great decision.

First, go post roll in your group (Pre-HOF January 2014). Post roll every day as early as possible. That is your promise to quit on that day. Don't do this half-assed, commit to it.

Second, strap in because it is not easy. You are about to face the "suck". The suck duration varies in time but expect about a week, maybe more. Nicotine will be out of your system within about 5 days. Find yourself an alternative (fake dip, seeds, gum, jolly ranchers, life savers, etc.). Drinks mass quantities of water, then drink some more.

Third, prepare your lovely wife by letter her see the spousal support section on here, you will need her support.

Fourth, control your anger. This affects almost all of us, remember that you caused you to be an addict. Do not take your emotions out on anyone else. When you get so mad you want to scream go out into the woods and let out a primal scream. Go workout or find a physical activity to push yourself.

Fifth, use the site. Get to know people, get their phone numbers. Contribute to other's quits as it will help your quit grow stronger as well.

Sixth, quit like a beast every day. Worry about tomorrow only when it is today. Today is what you focus on all day. Then tomorrow repeat the same. Looking ahead can get your quit in trouble and cause a cave.

Finally, if I can ever be of assistance PM me on here, or if you want shoot me your number. I am here to help.

JPG,

Welcome to KillTheCan.. If you really want to quit, this is the way to go about it.. Cold turkey.. No nic replacement, just guts.

I'm Romandog, today is my quit day 893. Here is a link to my HOF speech.. It has some good stuff that will help you.

index.php?showtopic=5054hl=

Stay close to the site, get in chat, get some fake stuff, some seeds, gum, etc.. I dipped Skoal for 31 years.. If I can get off this stuff then you can too.

Quit with you..

Welcome JPG! Now post roll in the Jan 2014 group and get to reading. Check the pink "welcome center" tab in the top left and read everything you can get your hands on both there and on the main site. After that make sure to read other people's intros and you'll see that we've all been there.

You've got this thing and we'll be here to help you in any way we can, that's what makes this site different. If you need some help, PM me with your number any time.

This is YOUR quit. One day at a time (ODAAT) and whip the nic bitch with everything you've got and you'll achieve the freedom you came looking for.

peace and quit.

Today I choose to quit because today is the only day I have control over today. Tomorrow is a new day and when tomorrow is today, I'll control it too, but not until then. I will win this fight with today...

Jpg congrats on making the decision today to quit. The veterans will give you great advice on posting roll and know that we are about taking 1 day at a time. As I say congratulations on your 11 year anniversary I know that did not happen by luck. You worked at it everyday just like you have to work at this. It is easy to use nicotine. So get pissed off at it like the rest of and reach out to me anytime you start to feel a craving or an urge. Go read my intro, we all have stories but together we all strive for a common goal. Support our brothers and stay quit!!!
