There are good days and bad.

Good news is the bad days get farther apart as you go along.

EDIT: Just for clarification you cannot have ANY tobacco !! That would be a cave.

I'm in the May quit group. Glad to have you on board! Congratulation on making it 79 days on your own. My suggestion is that you start developing a STAYING QUIT STRATEGY. You see, I went almost 300 days quit on my own a couple years back. But like an idiot I caved because I did not get other people invested in my quit. I lost vigiliance and that nic bitch snuck back into my life. I will NEVER make that mistake again. 100 days is a big deal around here but BAD ASS quitters put years in the rearview mirror. Again, glad to have you in the Mayhem Monster Quit Squad.

79 days on your own kicks ass. I am not sure I would have made it that far on my own. I almost lived on this site for the first 100 days. GREAT WORK.

Head on over to the May 2010 HOF Class and get to know your quit brothers. They will help you get through the wierd times yet to come. They are a great group.

Welcome to the site. Check your inbox. ( 1 )

79 days (my intro)
« on: April 28, 2010, 04:44:00 PM »
Alright, I'm 79 days in and feeling pretty good. Never really realized how much control tobacco had on me. I'm 26 now and it all started in high school, cigarettes and dip. Throughout the years I did what some here have done I am sure. You quit dipping by smoking, because of coarse, how easy is it to quit smoking. So easy that a couple of years later of smoking I decided I could quit smoking by dipping, same ol crap. 3 years ago I had quit or put dip on the shelf for an amazing 20 days  . Schedule to play in a golf tournament, we get down there and a friend of mine has a cigar. I thought what, that not going to hurt anything, a couple puffs? A cigar, that really hit the spot and put some calmness to the nerves!!! Yeah so a month later I decided to give up cigars by dipping. I have been dipping a can a day ever since. 79 days ago I was watching my wife and 9 month old and realized that my fat lip was going to cause big problems down the road if I didn't give this up.Made the decision that this was it. Day 79 is better than day 50 and I hope that day 100 is better than 79. If you decide to quit, then quit. Be demanding of yourself. Set a goal and don't make excuses around it. For 79 days I have thought of how simple it would be to ease everything by putting in a simple dip.....but on day 79 I am proud to say that I have 21 more days until I reach 100! Everyone reading this wishes they would have never started...its time to give it up and keep it out of our lives. This site is awesome. I enjoy reading all the other post. I know that at the end of the day it feels good knowing I can add a day to my quit date and know that I am sticking to it and not being a slave to cope. Its will power, don't cave, continue to add days to your quit!! 'Remshot'
