Haven't been on my intro thread for a while... I'm still at 100% in January 15 but I seem to be a little bored, and burned out. I need some motivation to continue to be involved in a meaningful way. I'm taking suggestions.

A couple things on a lighter note.... I got to meet up with 4 quitters in January 15, (Jake_m, Tige12, Txtaco, And Mark4). What an amazing weekend, we met and got along like we had known each other for years. We were missing a couple of close friends, not all of the Jerks could make this trip.
(They were missed) You gotta meet some fellow quitters it will solidify your quit like nothing else. I also got to meet Cavman83 in the last month, great guy, up here in MN for business. Meeting other quitters is highly recommended.

Lastly, I decided that if I could quit dipping, I could lose weight. So I made some changes in my diet and it has worked beautifully. I've lost 16 lbs and am still going.

I guess what I am trying to say is, use your quit , it can help you make friends for life or lose weight. Quitting just makes your life better. It can work for anyone. I couldn't have done it without all my boys and girls in January 15, and many others at Ktc.Thanks.

Damn proud to be quit with you!

Day 96 - Now that HOF is getting close, and a ton of my good friends are already on the train, I am feeling a little sentimental. I haven't been very good with keeping my intro updated. I wish I had at this point but oh well. When I came to this site I thought (on first impression) that it was dumb. Why would I want to talk to these people about my habit addiction. So I wrote an intro and tried to learn how to post roll. I was close but I posted in the supporter section. Almost immediately someone fixed it for me, welcomed me, and made me feel at home. Since then it has been a lot of the same, supporters around every corner and close during every crave. I've made friends with a ton of people, especially "the jerks", and can't imagine making this journey without Ktc.
Proud to be quit with you, and glad to call you a friend. The Jerks have definitely been a huge thing for me too. Just 4 days, and you get a HOF train power wedgy!

Natro, going solo for 2 weeks is bad ass, and we are glad you are here now. I'd suggest you get some fellow quitters numbers and exchange texts, it can be a life saver.
Allright. So now you're in a text group. You will find it to be a true literal lifesaver. Next challenge, find another. Find a vet that posts in support of Feb and ask them if they are in a group that you can join. If not, can you trade texts with them. At 184 days, I'm still a noob like you. To me vets at least have a comma (1,000 days).

Ask. You'll be surprised at the answer.

Natro, having kids can help you with quitting, because as we progress along our quits we go through phases each faze usually lasts a couple of days to a couple of weeks, but just like your kids go in and out of phases so will you. A lot of us had some misplaced anger problems we had to deal with. Quitting is fucking frustrating work. But you will grow out of the weird anger soon. So knowing it won't last long, bite your lip and smile. Get through this phase, without unloading on your family. Good luck.

Congrats on making a great choice, Natro. Embrace the suck. It is the feeling of healing. You can't get free for the asking. You have to earn it. But you have taken HUGE first steps on your own. Now let us help you with the rest.

Post roll, read all you can and repeat. Don't think about tomorrow, next week, next year. We'll deal with them when they get here. All you need to do is focus on today. And anybody can go one day, right? That's all there is to it, brother!

Stay strong. Stay quit. One day at a time...

Natro,
Welcome to KTC. Man I remember the early days and let me tell you it is not just a one week, couple days, or couple of months kind of thing. It took about 2-3 weeks before my rational mind started coming back. Even then there were additional roadblocks that get thrown in along the way. Around the Day 70 mark there were fits of rage and complete anger towards anyone that got in my way or created a change for me. Day 90 is when the "fuck it" days started, this is where I didn't give a fuck about anything or anyone. Then day 100 came and went quite the celebration...I fucking won...then reality sat in and it got hard to continue watching my fellow quitters drop like flies as I continued posting roll daily.

However, it really does get better after about day 200 was when I finally saw in myself that I was quit, even if I get pushed now I pledge my promise (post roll) daily and promise to everyone on here, my kids and my wife that I am quit. Nothing will change that.

Get your wife involved in your quit, I regret not doing that as she would have been a huge help but instead I figured she didn't know and I put her on the outside. Give this link to your wife Spousal Support she needs to know and be able to identify your behavior and learn how to call you on your bullshit.

I am here to quit daily with you and I offer myself to you if you evened help. I started walking this path 477 days ago and am not looking back now.
