I've been doing roll call on a fairly regular basis since August 1st, 2008 (day 25 – yeah). I thought I would share this story as my introduction. Hopefully some of you older quitters - especially with children can relate to this.
My son (just about to turn 9 years old) found my can of fake stuff - hooch last night. It was in the same place I would hide my real stuff from time to time. He asks me tonight; "was that tobacco in the drawer"? See, I've been hiding the sick habit from him all this time and the first time he ever asked me "is that tobacco", I was able to say ---- "no it is not tobacco"
I feel this is a no-turning-back point because I would never want my son think I lied to him.
I remember saying to my friends back in high school "Yinz guys (I'm from Pittsburgh) :) I hope to never be an old father that chews tobacco"
I feel good about this quit and I now know ”I’m not an old father that chews tobacco"
This is a great support group! Thanks
