Day 144
Spent all day yesterday at a pre-season wrestling event and knew the fat ass nic bitch was going to have her tongue in my ear. This was the first time in 34 years of coaching that there wasn't a can wart in my pocket. After coaching a few matches, I got that strong crave for a chew. I never used the fake stuff and wasn't about to start now. I stepped outside for some fresh air and reminded myself how far down the road of quit I've traveled, and the cravings subsided. I knew when I started this quit that the wrestling season was going to be my biggest challenge. With the tools I've learned over the last 4 months I'm ready to meet these triggers head-on and I'm sure there will be more "ifs" as I take each day one at a time.
If there's one thing Old ES knows...."if a frog had wings, he wouldn't thump his ass when he jumped."
Quit with all of you.

Dip dream = X-ray

94 days into my quit and my 1st dip dream lands me in the doctors office getting my wrist x-rayed. I spent about 20 years coaching high school football (linebackers) and I dreamed the fellas were tackling like a bunch of panies. I dreamed I pulled out my can, stuffed my face and said "let me show you how it's done". The next thing I know I'm on the floor in the corner of the bedroom on the OPPOSITE side of the bed, having cleared of the night stand... the phone, pictures and some other shit were scattered about...WTF...it's a dam good thing Mrs. Enough hadn't come to bed yet or surely she would've been fuckin snow plowed under. X-ray results are due today-

Did you ever say to yourself, "I doubt I could do that". I can't count the number of times I've slapped a wrestler in the face and told him, don't doubt yourself...go out there and kick this kids ass!
Yet, every time I entertained the thought of quitting dip the doubt card was in my head. Why wasn't I smart enough to hear MY OWN words...don't doubt yourself, leave frickin doubt on the bench and go out there and Beat that BITCH! Well, my quit and this site, KTC have enabled me to put a face to nicotine, and we all here know her...old horse teeth, nicci the bitch.
Old ES has learned a couple things in the last 78 days.
1. By keeping this quit at the forefront of my mind, it's leaving No Doubt as to who is winning the game between me and fat ass. Don't allow doubt to creep into your mind. I constantly have to remind my athletes, if you think your gonna loose, you probably will.
2. This quit brotherhood reminds me of pledging my college fraternity. There I am living in a frat house with 25 other testosterone raged appledomes....stumbling over, around and into on a daily basis...but creating lifelong frienships and huge bonds, much like here @ KTC...if only thru the screen...how cool.
So, stay quit my brothers and "Leave No Doubt" as to who is driving the bus.

"Whipped em again Josie. Whipped em again boy". I thought of that line from "The Outlaw Josie Wales" this morning when I slipped out to do some deer scouting and hang a trail cam or two. This was the first time I've done that without a chew in, in 3 decades. I thought about that as I drove to my destination, but after 3 hours in the woods, not once did I think of you nicci, you fat fuck. By the way, when was the last time you took a bath?...you smell like fish! Oh, let me answer that one fat ass - it was 67 days ago. You were up in my treestand last year, snuggled up in my front pocket next to my short curlys, like a dog curled up next to a warm fire - - not this year sweet cheeks! All and all it was a great morning - saw some great sign, hung a couple trail cams and stepped on a bees nest...all without you. So our game continues. Whipped her again Sultans. Whip her again boy!

Not only that, they've been around long enough to be able to tell the difference between the important stuff and the rest of the "noise" which is all too prevalent in today's society.

ES, short fuse is not so bad. You should pray you don't get the "I don't care about anything" funk; that one sucked bad. Sometimes it's a funk, and sometimes it's just life, but either way just keep quitting.
