I just heard about this forum this morning and decided to join. I hope I can get enough inspiration to get my mind ready to quit this nasty habit.

I'm 62 years old and use about a can a day of Skoal. I smoked from the age of around 10 until quitting 2 packs a day of non filtered Camels at the age of 27. Quit that cold turkey with almost no problems. I stayed tobacco free for about three years until in a moment of weakness I accepted a dip of Skoal. No problem. But about 6 months later at a store checkout there was a Skoal display. I thought I'd get a can just to have a dip, since when I had it previously I felt no cravings aftwards.

Big mistake.....I had a can a day habit within a week. Anyway, I need to get off this stuff.
Toss the can. I'll look for your name on the roll tomorrow. My name will be there as a promise to you that I will not succumb to my addiction tomorrow. I'm nine days into my quit. I've only been an addict for about 16 years (much less than you), but, hell, you've quit before, so you know it can be done. I'd be proud to be in the same quit group with you.

Hope and inspiration: look into the mirror each morning and swear that you will not dip today.
Each night do the same: that today is over and again you were sucessful in your fight and pat yourself on the back.
Tomorrow: Repeat....................

Welcome Kempo. It is amazing how the Nic Bitch works herself back into our lives. It is like she tries different tactics to get you to let down your guard.

That is why posting roll everyday is so important...keeps her at bay. Congrants and welcome.

Go for it, Kempo. The first couple of weeks are usually tough, but I can tell you it's completely worth it. I'm on day 78 and have never felt better. Your life is worth it. Toss out all nicotine, post roll, and hang out here for support. You can do it!

Welcome Kempo!

You already know that it can be done because you've already done it!!!!

You also know already that you're an addict and you can't have just one in a moment of weakness.

So throw the can away and start over. It can be done, you know it, and everyone here is proof that if works.

You've come to the best place to make it happen. Read as much as you can, become familiar with everything here. Join the April group and learn how to post roll every day. (Some vets will give you the details on how to do it)

PM me if I can help you out in any way.

STAY STRONG-STAY QUIT!!

Brian
