A guy I work with has quit too in the past month. I am using fake snuff, and I have a cold so I have cough drops handy. He is using some nicotine mints from Walmarts. I do not want to use the nicotine mints even though he says its just enough to take the edge off, (4mg or 2mg per mint). What would you do?
Nicotine is nicotine. For you to honor your quit here, THERE IS NO NICOTINE. NONE. In any form. You are doing this the right way. Keep it up and we are all quit with you!

hey Bro. dustindw,

Before you rip the air conditioner out of the wall, rest assured, you're gonna get through this, I PROMISE!
It is tough the first days....Anger, hostility, fear, all of it. Drink lots of water, chew gum, seeds, fake dip if you need. It takes a good 72 hours to get the nic out of your system. Lots of water helps. Beproud of yourself. You ARE QUIT!!!
read the following page:

important

the above is pretty close for eveyone...(if they admit it).

You CAN be QUIT. No matter what anyone says. Don't listen to the addiction, OWN your QUIT.
POST ROLL like a crazy man! Chat room when you can. Phone a friend. Most of all make sure you are quitting for YOU and noone else. Noone else feels your pain if the Doctor has to cut half your face off so you can be tube fed.

You're quit is a powerful one! 'zombie'

Day three is great! THAT's the first small achievement of many more to come - as long as YOU want it. You are getting a ton of good advice from these fine quitters and you will do well to follow their lead but don't stop there. READ READ READ...and then READ some more on this site.

By the way, if you are looking for something to satiate that oral crave and the fake and seeds and mints just aren't doing it for you, try the old reliable "Atomic Fireball" - those things work like a charm for many. I know, I was skeptical at first, too, but they worked for me.

Holler if you need anything - digits, support, etc...

I ordered some of Jakes Mint Chew to see if it tastes better.  I was worried about the Smokey Mountain "snuff" being to fine cut. I cant do fine cut. Thanks for yall's support.  I dipped all the time and smoked when I drink.  I recently started see a girl and she was not impressed that I smoked. So I have vowed to quit everything. I have always thought about quitting, just never had a reason. I'm 30 took my first chew and smoke around 13 years old. Again happy to be here and thanks for the support.
If you're quitting for a chick, you might as well give up now. You're wasting everyone's time including your own. This quit has to be 110 fucking percent about you or it's destined to hop on board the failboat and sail off into the cancerous sunset.

Can this woman be a motivation? Yes.
Can she be the reason you quit? No.

My fiancé is a motivation, but I quit for me. I quit because I was fed up with it running my life. I quit because I felt fucking pathetic. I quit because I was scared of cancer. I quit because I love my teeth. I quit because I wanted to be free. My 67 days of quit can be attributed to ME wanting to quit. If I had quit because she asked me to, I would have ended up caving to get back at her or blaming her for my misery or all of the above. I know because I tried. It never worked.

Bottom line, it has to be YOUR quit (with her in mind.) If it isn't, get gone.

Are YOU ready?
I am ready to quit. $15 (3 cans) a day in dip, an aching lip at the end of the day. I have tried in the past and have not made it 2 days. She just planted the seed again, and I am giving it hell this time! What is important is that I have taken the first step, and I am motivated to see this through.

Question - why are there no tobacco flavored cookies????

It is that crap nicotene that fooled us into thinking of the taste as being good.

So take a hold of your life and make that daily promise to keep it out of your body and life. Use whatever means you can, the fake stuff, coffee beans, seeds, toothpicks....anything, just not the poison.

I quit with you today.

I took my last dip around 2 am yesterday (12/01/2012), got called out to work. I have been dipping the shit out of Bacc-Off.  My major concern is that Bacc-off is not sold everywhere, mostly tobacco shops, and they do not always have it, and peppermints do not help as much.  I guess I can try sunflower seeds, If anyone has any other ideas I am open to them. Also any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Dustin
There's a shit ton of alternatives you can order it on the smokeless alternatives, but you don't need it. Use it if you feel its best but if you run out, guess what? Fuck it, you're quit. You can use seeds, gum, hard candy, cawk, toothpicks, hell some guys get so desperate they throw some teabags in there. Go to the salmon colored link up top that says welcome center, click on it and find out how to post roll. Then head on over to March '13 and post roll every fuggin day. Posting roll is giving your word that you'll not use nic that day...one day at a time, that's how we do it here. You can do this, we can help. Reach out if you need some help, pm your brothers and exchange phone numbers, it strengthens your quit, shoot me a message if you need anything.

Glad to be quit with you,
Bruce

Advice:
1. Post roll
2. Keep your word
3. Rinse, repeat

Bacc off can be ordered online if you're into that. It saves you the trouble of braving the 'baccer sto first hand too. I personally recommend Smokey Mountain herbal snuff, since it doesn't have the consistency of clay turds/ cat litter.

More advice: read everything here on the site. HOF speeches, words of wisdom, everything. It is as beneficial to your quit as anything could be.

PM me of you have any questions. Welcome aboard the crazy house

Welcome Dustin.

I used seeds for about 120 days. Ate em like a damn chipmunk. Then I just didn't need them any longer. Havn't used anything in over four years.

If your word of honor means anything, you can do this. Check the "Welcome Center" upper left corner of your screen.

That should get you started.

Then, put on your helmet and let's get this done.
