tips, suggestions, advice.................Yeah, I got some... QUIT and not because of your heart or your family or your doctor. Quit because deep down you have told yourself for years that you want to quit. You don't want to be a slave to any drug or anyone. Quit, because now you have me and GrizzClaws on your team. And guess what, there are going to be a lot more quitters on here standing in your corner. Let's get it Will, just quit. No sense in being a pussy about it and mixing drugs with placebos. Just freaking quit and be done with it. Make the decision and stick to it.

Thanks Mogul, I DO want to quit because I am tired of being a slave to nicotine. It's been on my mind for a long, long time. It took this event to kick me in the ass to move forward. Call me a pussy but I am going to continue on the road I am on. It will be a couple weeks and I'll be off the nicotine completely.

Grizzly, I appreciate your advice but I respectfully decline. I've tried Cold Turkey and it hasn't ever worked. My best results came from this process before.

Hi Everyone.

Chewed Cope and Cope long cut for 25 years or so. I have quit a few times only to cave. This time, it's for real. About 2 months ago I began having some funny heart palpitations, like I would get an extra beat. It was fairly strong and I could definitely feel it. Obviously I was concerned and went on a complete mission to figure out what was going on. I figured one thing I can do is quit chewing. I immediately went from Cope to mixing 1/2 can of skoal wintergreen with 1/2 a can of Smokey Mountain. Low and behold, the palpitations vanished. One day, I forgot my "mix", so I bought a can of Copenhagen. Guess what happened? Sure enough the Palpitations came back. I went back to the mix and they stopped again. I'm figuring there must have been something in the Copenhagen that was doing it or the concentration of nicotine. Have seen the Dr. and while what I was having is very common they also believe it very well may have been the Copenhagen.

I'm wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience or has heard of this before...

Anyways, I've been on the road. Currently I am at 20% Skoal 80% Smokey Mountain mix. I am weaning myself off. I will go to 15%, then 10%, then 5, then 0. That's my plan. This time, I am sticking to it. I have to for my and my family's sake. I feel very motivated to do this.

So, while I cannot say I've officially "Quit", I am well on the road and as I said, I am motivated.

Any tips, suggestions, advice would be greatly appreciated.
Stop "weening" yourself. Just grab your sack and quit. No more nicotine, that's how we roll here.
