I'm so new here that I'm not even sure if I should be posting this, but listen to these guys! I answered a PM from a member here this morning and told him I "planned" to start on Friday. He replied about like these guys here are. I listened to him and in about 45 minutes, I'm done with day 1. For the first time in 30 plus years I don't have any tobacco products in the house or anywhere near me! And as much as it SUCKS. It feels great! Bring on day 2 MFER!

Couple quick questions to ask have you set a "quit day" before? How'd that work for you. We both know the answers. Planning to quit doesn't work. Quitting is all that works.
Dump it.
Post roll.

Don't bother coming back Sunday.

You aren't ready for the total ass kicking you are going to need to be able to take to quit. And I'm not talking about an ass kicking from the members - I'm talking about the physical and mental kick in the junk you are going to get from that can...you know the one...the one that has your nards in a vice right now...

Yeah, I was in your exact place - I'll quit tomorrow. I'll get rid of this can on my drive home from work and quit. I can't tell you how many full cans I threw out the window on my drive home (sorry officers) with the solemn intent of starting my quit right then and there...only to stop and get a new can on the way to work the next day...or to wait until I got my kids on the bus in order to run to the corner store and buy a can.

If you aren't ready to start today...RIGHT NOW...you sure as hell wont be ready come Sunday. Time to man up. You came here for the help...believe it or not, this IS help. Dump your cans right now - ALL of them, including the emergency old dry stash - and quit.
Blah...Blah...Blah...You keep TALKIN....I'll keep QUITTIN

I'm not here to make friends, I'm here to support YOUR quit.

Who knows which time you put that irritant in between your lip and and your addiction and it sparks the cellular chain reaction that leads to some doctor filleting your face like a halibut.

And not to remove that "FAIL" tattoo from your forehead either.

Why Sunday?

Nicotine is a powerful drug. It is trying to convince you that you need her for five more days, and then you will be ready. But on Sunday there will be a reason that you cannnot quit and the quit day will be pushed back again. Tomorrow will never come.

Take control of your life now. Take your first victory over the nic bitch and dump that shit now. She has been controlling you for the past 17 years. Not anymore. Now you call the shots.

Quit today!!! Check out the welcome center (pink/salmon link on the top left). Learn about roll call, and post day one TODAY!!!!

Let me know if you need anything.

Steve

Hi,
My name is Brandon Griswold. I have been dipping for 17 years, primarily copenhagen the last 5 years and skoal straight the previous 12 years. I have tried quitting so many times, I can't count how many. I was on the internet last night and came across this site. It seems like a good support and accountability group. I have to try something different, I want quit and be successful for me, my family, the future. I always end up giving into the same old excuse every time, "I am feeling stressed", therefore, I put a dip in my mouth and the cycle begins again.
I'd suggest you do a little more reading on here.

First, you said:

I want to point out your post title - "Planning on Quitting This Sunday."

Hmmm...tell ya what I'm gonna do. I'm going to leave it at that. As the late Charlie Daniels said, "Come on back if you ever want to try again...."

End that cycle right now.

Spit out the dip.

Flush your stash.

Post roll call.

Any questions?
