This is day 8 for me.  Saw my dentist and she said not to worry at all my gums would heal.  I don’t have cravings....I have insomnia and anxiety.  My anxiety is in overload.

Welcome Schnipke,

8 days on your own is bad ass.  Glad the dentist had good news for you.  What you are experiencing with your anxiety and insomnia is normal symptoms for a lot of people freeing themselves from nicotine.  You should head on over to the March 2019 Pre-HOF Quit Group and post your daily promise to abstain from nicotine.  The people in this group are are at basically the same stage of their quit as you and some of them are going through the same symptoms as you.

Start talking to them, exchange phone numbers in Private Message, get to know your brothers in quit.  I do know that some have sought professional help for anxiety, while others just tough it out.  Whichever way you choose, just make sure it does not involve nicotine or Nicotine replacement therapy.  one problem + nicotine = two problems.

Go post your promise, keep your word and come back tomorrow and promise again.  One day at a time is how we roll. Ask all the questions you want, Someone will have the answer you need.

I quit with you today

Actually, you already made it over to post.  Awesome job.  You only need to post in the top section and I would suggest using your screen name so everyone knows its you.  It took me a minute to figure out that Jared was you.

Now start exchanging digits with other quitters of your group and some vets, this will build your accountability and brotherhood networks.  If you want my digits, just send me a PM and I will happily oblige.
If you want my digits, just ask and they will be yours, but I expect yours in return.

Accountability is a statement of personal promise, both to yourself and to the people around you, to deliver specific defined results.

Do not be complacent about your achievements and not to strive for continual improvement when you get to the top. As soon as you let success go to your head, you sink into following familiar patterns and play it safe. In other words, you risk losing your edge.

You need anything, ask.  You feel strong, help.  This quit is for you but we got your back.
