Welcome McB.

There is no "late in the quit". We quit everyday brother. It sounds like you have a feel for roll call and what goes on there. That's exactly it brother. That's you putting your word down that you quit today. So don't think about being quit next week or month or Christmas or Canadian Boxing Day. Worry about today and face tomorrow when its looking at you in the mirror.

Hit the Pink. Welcome Center in the upper left. Read through that. That will give you an idea of the flow here. Read it. Want to take control of your addiction? Want to own it? Read. Understand the fight you have coming and the support that is available. So read everything on the site.

Roll call. Let me see if I can emphasize the importance of this accurately...post fucking roll every damn day without exception. Do it early. First thing. Put your word down that you are quit today. No excuses. "But my dog..." or "I'm on safari in..." doesn't cut it. Don't fuck with the program. This is you putting your word down to us and yourself that you are quit today. That's how it works.

Your group is: September. Good folks in there. Get to know them. We're all fighting the same bitch everyday brother. They'll be there when thoughts start creeping in your head. Reach out.

If you find that your word is in jeopardy (a.k.a. your spine turning to pink ruffled wet panties)....perform the following:

-Get on the site and post roll.
-Get on the site and read.
-Get on the site and chat.
-Text a quit brother or sister that you need a kick in the ass.
-Call a quit brother or sister asking for words of inspiration.
-Ask yourself did I do everything I could to save my life today?

These are the tools. Use them. There is no reason to ever consume nicotine again. None.

Lastly, the more you read the safer your quit. The more you are involved the safer your quit. The more you invest in your quit the safer your quit.

This isn't a rant. This is how I like my quit...with purpose and balls. The nic bitch has been lying and trying to kill you for years. Its time for revenge. Its time for justice. Make her your puppet. Own it. You will do this.

-Soul

Add me to the roll call

After thirty years of tobacco addiction using either dip or chew and many failed attempts to quit, I finally said "enough" on June 18, 2011. In the beginning, I could not picture how I would be able to get through a day without a dip in my mouth. My addiction allowed me to reason that everything I did during the day could not be done correctly without a dip in my mouth. I am 47 days quit and determined to make this my final quit. Enough of the lame excuses, stinky breath, sore throat and gums, hiding the can, clothing stains, brown slimy stinky cups in the cupholder, frantic thoughts of running low in the can, etc. etc. I found this site late in the quit but am glad it is available.
Quit today all day long!!!
