I have been a steady user of Kodiak or Copenhagen snuff for 16 years. Starting at 16 in high school because it was the thing to do in Central Nebraska. I have been married for 5yrs this August and have 3 daughters(9,3,14 months). Im ready to be done with having to make sure the cans are put up so the kids dont find them, done with making sure i have enough chew to make it through different situations, basically letting the chew control my life!!
Welcome Jon, this is a decision you'll never regret. Check out the welcome center and find your quit group (Oct '14), then you'll post roll, that's your promise to not use nicotine today. Then we repeat, one day at a time. Drink water, get some exercise, sunflower seeds, candy and a million other suggestions you'll find around here to keep the poison out of your mouth for another day.
I won't lie, it's gonna suck right now. You need to embrace it though, learn to hate the fact that a substance has had control of your life for so long.
Welcome Jon. Buckle up for a few bad days, drink a ton of water, post roll, and get to know your October brothers and sister. They are some bad ass quitters.
Congrats on making a great choice. Post roll, read all you can, and keep your word.
Yes, it is going to suck before it gets better...but you knew that. What you don't know is that YOU CAN DO THIS. Click around in the Quit Groups...not just your own, but other months and years. Then think, all of those names were once right where you are now. We are all living free ONE DAY AT A TIME.
Attitude is everything. Turn the tables on the Nic Bitch. Quitting is a privilege reserved to those who have the guts to do it. That is something to be pumped about already. Don't wait to celebrate...every day of freedom is cause for celebration. Welcome the suck. That is the feeling of healing, brother!
