Spen, it sounds like you have done a great job, but still have struggled on your own. This site can provide some great inspiration, but to really tap in, you need to get involved.

Go on over to topic/11679548/503/#new. That's your HOF Quit group. They quit the same time you did and will all reach 100 days clean in October. They are a great group and will provide support, distraction and a swift kick in the ass, should you need it.

I 100% credit the people on this site with keeping me quit. Reading and occasionally posting in your intro can be helpful, but the backbone is the daily promise and the accountability that provides.

The support on this site is not unconditional. If you want the kind of support offered here, you need to make your promise every single day and be prepared to give something back.

I hope that you choose to get involved and engage here. It can save your life and will make your quit much stronger.  Reach out if I can help.

Spen,
Go ahead and 2nd guess yourself. In 40 years you can be just like me......heart disease, high blood pressure, missing teeth, fear that more damage is waiting for me.
You have a great start of 48 days quitting. Don't even think about throwing it away and caving.
You say you have been reading. You must have heard the wisdom of veteran quitters on this site. Pay heed to their advice and follow them. Post you promise to not use nicotine every day and keep your promise. Use the tools here to keep your quit.

Day 48
« on: August 17, 2016, 08:18:00 PM »
I've been coming back to this website over an over for the past 48 days. Finally decided to sign up today. I started dipping at 16 to be "cool" then joined the Coast Guard at 18 which lead to even more frequent and heavy dipping. I'm 28 now and just quit on July 1st. Everyday is a challenge. It has been an emotional roller coaster for myself and my family. I've been second guessing my decision all week. I hope this group will help support my endeavor.
