Hey there. My name is Collin Lathrop. I'm 19 years old and I currently reside in Leesville, South Carolina. I tried my first smokeless tobacco product at the early age of 12. I remember feeling my first buzz and thinking about how cool my friends and I were at the time. A couple of years had passed and I started my first years of high school and realized how much easier dip was to get. Of course I started to dip more and more eventually finding myself dipping 2 to 3 cans a day. I had some things going on in my life and led to me buying more and more. After the loss of a best friend i soon found myself becoming a young father and my usage picked up heavily. After much debate on career and college decisions, I swore into The South Carolina Air National Guard on February 25, 2016. I left for basic training on June 7th and came home on August 8th. The first thing I told my parents when I left Lackland Air Force Base was to have a can of dip waiting for me at the airport. I started dipping again, normally going through a can a day since then. I came to terms last night that i can't do this to myself any longer. I feel guilty every time I buy a can knowing that one day ill have to explain to my son that i wasted money on something that could have killed me. I had a break in training after I finished boot camp, so I will be leaving again for tech school on January 3rd. This time I'm going away tobacco free and in way better shape. I'm truly thankful that I've found this site. I already feel the temptation to buy another can, but I refuse to let it get the best of me! God bless each and every one of the members of this site! It's because of you guys that I can truly quit this time around!
