Hey Charlie, your in the right place bud.  I was just like you.  Never able to quit.  All that's been said below are true words.  I would add that here on KTC I came to realize what it truly means to be an addict.  And I've learned new skills and picked up tools to help me overcome this addiction. Addiction has a voice.  It exerts control over us.  When you were using the nicotine replacement stuff, it was the addiction that got you to do that.  Addiction works to sustain and protect itself.  The moment you say no more, then you are in charge.  Don't think of it as cold turkey, think of it as you are controlling the ship.  You need 72 hrs to purge all the nicotine from your system.  It won't be easy but it's worth it.  You won't be alone.  Here we quit together.  One day at a time.  It is so worth it.  The hardest part is that first step.  You actually are alone right now.  But as soon as you take that first step, suddenly you will be walking with 1000's of other men and women walking on the same path.  And we are all taking our freedom back.  Click on my name and send me a pm with your number.  I'll quit with you every day.

Hey Charlie. I sent you several texts on how to find your group. Not sure what kind of phone you have etc. tonight if you need to I can actually call you and walk through it with you. Just let me know. First couple times it may seem difficult. It's simple once you get the hang of it. Just holler

That's all you need to quit right here.  Post roll  keep your word.  Simple but the hardest thing you'll ever do.

Hooch is awesome.  I just got some too.  I've been using fake since I started my quit.  Stick anything you want in your mouth as long as it's not nicotine, that includes all that gum crap.

Quit cold turkey, stumble through the fog like we all did before you  come out on the other side.  I had 9 miserable days, everybody is different, but I'll never forget waking up on day 10  dropping the best hot stack in the history of the world.  After that, the fog started to clear.

Also, get some numbers.  It felt weird to me at first, giving my numbers to strangers on the internet..... but I have made some friends here that I would never have run into had it not been for KTC.  We are all in this together.

Brotherhood  Accountability.  You've got to read, read, read  drink the koolaid, but if you do, this place will make you quit.
hey Charlie-Echo-Kilo,

Welcome to taking your life back. We were not meant to be slaves to a poison.

You dipped for 20 years..one day at a time you dipped...You're gonna quit the same way...ODAAT = One day at a time.
If you put a tenth of the work into quitting as you did into dipping, you can "be quit".
It is really simple, but most likely the hardest thing you have ever done.
Do this for YOU and You only. Focus and be selfish with your quit, as you were when you dipped....and your family will reap the benefits of "you" being quit.
Just quit for today. Just today. You can do anything for a day...right?

read all you can in here...the weapons of quit are here.

If my sorry ass can do this, then I believe that YOU can TOO!!
I love what 30 says about a tenth of the effort of dipping. Being a quitter is simpler than being a dipper. Not easier, but way simpler! We went through some fucked up contortions to feed our addiction! Now you only have to think about one thing. Keeping today's promise that you post every morning!

Thanks for the welcome and I appreciate the straight shooting, no BS attitude. I have pulled up my big boy pants and will quit one day at a time. Removed nicotine gum from the equation. Was able to locate Smokey Mountain at a tribal tobacco shop and picked up a few cans until Hooch arrives.

Hit the welcome center and start reading. Read everything on KTC, look at cancer pics, read cancer stories, and read intros of some veteran quitters. Once you read you can make up your own mind.

CEK--these quitters are correct. and don't worry about quitting for good. Just quit ODAAT (One day at a time). Thats it. Just today. We will worry about tomorrow when it is today. Also, for now lets drop the wife and kids out of this. Let's make this quit all about you. No one else. Let's fight for your life and then the wife and kids are automatically taken care of. When you think about how selfish this product makes us you will get pissed and boomerang your quit.

I have been chewing for close to twenty years, split between Cope and Kodiak. I have attempted to quit several times in the past and failed. I decided that 2014 is the year I quit for good, not only for myself but for my better half, our two girls, and our newborn son. Deciding to quit and actually making the attempt was a month in the making. I started cold turkey on Saturday, February 8 and was a complete asshole to my wife. I used nicotine gum to take off the edge then added the only herbal chew I could find locally, Mint Snuff. I am interested in sampling other herbal chews and plan on ordering Hooch and Elicit to start. Any other recommendations are greatly appreciated.
Don't use nicotine gum patches or any of that. You need to actually quit nicotine. That's how you successfully beat a nicotine addiction. Then, once you've actually quit, you post roll and keep your word. You will have a roll page with other quitters where you all make your promise daily not to use nicotine. It's so simple it's ridiculous. You just quit putting nicotine (the addictive substance) in your body. Can you do that?

Here's a suggestion. Toss that scam ass nicotine gum, grow a set and quit. Everyone on this site has been through what you are going to go through. We all have similar stories in when we started dipping, how long, what type blah blah blah. The point here is that we quit like fuck. We don't try and we don't hope. We Quit. Somebody will be through here shortly to explain how to post roll and the meaning of it. I'm on my iPhone so I can't. Anyways bud. I look forward to seeing another quitter step up to the plate and I'll be looking for you in roll call. Stay quit and take it easy on you wife and kids, it's not our families fault that we where such idiots to pack that monkey shit in our mouths. PM me if you need anything. Quit on
