I'm at that terrible place where I can't stand dipping anymore, but I don't want to quit either.

Kyle you said right here in your first post that you don't want to quit either. This quit has to have want. You have to want to quit and stay quit one day at a time. This site can help you stay quit if you are ready. PM me and I will help you in any possible way, but YOU have to want to quit.

Excellent decision Kyle. Excellent. Welcome to the first step in getting your life back. It won't be easy, but it will be simple.

1. Wake up
2. Post roll
3. Take first breath

Keep your word until the pillow coddles your head tonight. Repeat tomorrow.

Read as much as you can on the website. Read introductions, read hall of fame speeches, read words of wisdom, read other quit groups postings.

OK, it's dumped.
make sure it is flushed. The can is clean. All your stash cans are gone. All the partial empties are cleaned as well and flushed. Would hate for you to run to the trashcan later today and scrape one together.

Now... go understand what posting roll means and get that taken care of.

When you are posted up go back to my previous response and get busy quitting...

Change your mindset now. You say you are NOT looking forward to this. Change that to I AM looking forward to this. I AM ready to stop being a slave to this shit. I AM ready to take my life back. Your mind is a very powerful tool in your journey to be free. Use it to help you rather that fight you.

We are all addicts. Once you know and understand that you can begin to understand the stupid shit you did to feed your addiction. Use this site and the tools provided here and you can have the freedom you seek.

You CAN dump your shit, and post a 1 today if you want to. As long as you are clean. Now since you are planning to spend some time on the site today I suggest going to the welcome center and spending the remainder of your day reading everything you can find there. Understand roll call and why we do it. Once you understand that get into your quit group and post up.

Then go to the introduction pages and read all of that, then go to the HOF speeches and read all of those Then you you can find the Words of Wisdom pages and read all of those. Alot of reading you say... well yes it is but it is words written by quitters!! Where better to learn how to quit than from people who are doing it daily.

Now dump your shit, and get to quitting

Kyle - flush your cancer stash and jump your ass into chat.
PS.1 - we are all "really, really, really addicted" - you are not different.
PS.2 - we get all "tingly and stuff" when a fellow addict decides to grab their little nut sack and take their life back.

Greg, I guess I can do that. I'll go do that now. But I'm not counting today as a real quit day. I'm going to start my count tomorrow. I am very much an addict. thanks for replying you and klark so fast. I'm really not looking forward to this. I'm really really really addicted. I feel it in my blood now when I dip, if you know what I mean. I get tingly and stuff. I'm going to really use the hell out of this board this afternoon. It's gonna be bad for me.
I quit on June 21st, 2012.

klark, honestly, simply because I picked tomorrow as my quit day. I know it may be mind games, but I feel that today wouldn't be a "true" quit date since I've already dipped. I've had in mind for a while now that today would be my last day that I dip, and so I am sticking with tomorrow. I also know that based on past experience, if I dip once during the day, I dip all day long, and so I want and need a fresh start where I wake up and COMMIT to a dip free life.

Why wait until tomorrow? You are here for a reason, don't enjoy a last dip day or you may never make it back here.

Your other breaks do not matter. You need to understand you are an addict. You are addicted to nicotine just like the rest of us. You will try to convince yourself in every way possible that "one more" will not hurt. I cannot tell you how many people I see pop on here and say I will quit tomorrow, never to be seen again.

Dump your shit in the toilet, flush it, all of it. Post your promise to be quit TODAY. This site and the methods here will give you the freedom you seek.

TODAY... not tomorrow.

I've been an on and off closet dipper for 10 years. I honestly can't stand it anymore. I'm up to 2 cans a day and my gums are so cut it it's pathetic. I've decided that I'm going to quit tomorrow. I've done this once or twice before and i've hated it every time. I'm at that terrible place where I can't stand dipping anymore, but I don't want to quit either. Anyhow, I know that I have to, and I'm going to, but I'm going to need your help because they only times in the past I was successful and lasted a long time (over a year) off the can was when i used these forums. Anyhow, I'm packing my gums full of the crap today in order to say "goodbye" so that I can begin this journey again tomorrow. Please wish me luck and be there for me when I'm going nuts. Thanks.
Why not today? Is the marathon session worth it?

Unless you bring value onto my 1/2 acre, I don't want to hear it.
