Thanks guys. I do get worried about the longevity because thats when i faltered before. But now i have my support group and never gonna falter again. I used to use dip as a reward. As bad as that sounds. If i do this right i get a dip. What a loser I was. Now im just a quitter and im okay with that 'boob'
Dude. True quitters are strong, passionate, caring, reliable....all the things you want in a person. A true quitters knows about the struggles. Is willing to and wants to help. A quitter knows that the only way to keep what they got is to give what they got. A quitter knows do what you always did, get what you always got. A quitter has a certain wisdom and understanding that few others will understand. I am proud to be a quitter. understand the strength it takes to day by day fight your demons. Your demons are strong. You trained them. Every time you packed your lip you took your demons to the gym, fed them protein shakes, pushed them to their limits. So, my man, a quitter is amazing.

Proud to be quit with you.

Just for today, Self.

I'm happy to quit with you, Eric. You've clearly been reading and have learned a lot so far. Keep it up!

One point I want to make (mostly because it was always my biggest struggle when trying to quit previously) is that toward the end of your introduction you almost sound worried about the longevity of the process. You can't think about it (well, I can't, or I go crazy). Think about today. Quit today. Enjoy today. Worry about tomorrow when you wake up.
Exactly this ^^^

Just focus one day at a time. Hell sometimes it's hour by hour or minute by minute. Just make your promise and have enough integrity to keep it for whatever length of time you can handle at that moment, then rinse and repeat. Use the people and tools at your disposal to lean on when you need to and be a rock for someone else when you feel strong. Proud to quit with you for today. Sent my digits as well. Use em if you need em.
Post early and EDD! ODAAT! 24 hrs that's all you need to worry about, and that's enough. This bitch is very crafty as you will read. Guys think they don't have to post everyday, all that does is say if I cave today at least I want be lying to all my brothers and sisters who help hold me accountable everyday! And then there's some that get magically healed after hof and all of a sudden there either not addicts or there miraculously held. Once an addict you will always be an addict but here you learn the tools to stay ahead of the bitch but you've got to use them. It's damn tough but worth every damn second of the suck! Damn proud to be quit with you!
Tobacco is so addictive it took me a year after a massive heart attack, in which doctor confirmed caused from dipping to finally put a lid on the bitch! ODAAT EDD

Unlike quitting products, total adherence to a personal commitment to not violate the law of addiction provides a 100% guarantee of success. Although obedience may not always be easy, the law is clear, concise and simple - no nicotine today, not one puff, dip or chew!

That's great Eric! You have the right attitude and it looks like you're already starting to sip the House Kool-Aid.

Glad to have you in the August group. I encourage you to jump right in posting your experiences and thoughts in the group and here. Your support network will expand quickly and we'll all be better off for the increased engagement.

My contact info is on the way.

Introduction - Im an Addict
« on: May 26, 2016, 01:08:00 PM »
Im an addict, Im an addict, I am an addict. When you finally get the courage to admit, "your an addict" you know you are ready for change. IÂ’m not doing this for my girlfriend, the newborn baby on the way, my parents, my friends, for my girlfriend to want to kiss me again scared she will try and i will have dip in my mouth 'bang head' NOOOOOOO WAY...i am doing this for me. and only me. The other stuff is an added bonus. I have quit before I got the 7 months before felt great and then caved. Now i sit here wondering why i caved. I dont know honestly? Oh i know because I am a freaking addict! I didnt keep a good support system before and now I have one. My g/f fully supports me and realizes i am an addict, I have found friends already on here that are making me accountable. I am here to be accountable by every single person here on this site. To never let me fall, to always have my back and maybe one day I can change one personÂ’s decision on quitting and help them like I have been helped already by the people here.

So here is my vow and promise to you. I will be strong, I will not blame anyone for my addiction but myself. I will own it like a man and I will definitely not be ever using nicotine again. It may seem like at this point I am 4 days in but deep down I know this goes forever and thatÂ’s how I have to look at this.

'help'

Eric
