Good decision Brian. Now settle down and use all that quit fire to work on today and do that one day at a time. The days will add up into years just like each of those dipping days added up one at a time.

As far as Texas Jonathan, start a intro and read all you can and get to the welcome center and figure roll call out.

Hey Brian, my name is Jonathan and I am 31. I have been dipping at least 1 can of Copenhagen a day since I was 12 yrs old. I am currently living in Brazil and have decided to quit dipping. I threw my last dip out last night, September 2nd @ 8pm. I am at 19 1/2 hours and feeling ok. A little foggy, but overall ok. I just wanted you to know that you are not the only one going through this and we quit the same day, so we will conquer this together. Let me know if you need anything and Good Luck!

Great decision, Bafloyd!!! Click on the Welcome Center link above and start reading. Learn how to Post Roll and what it means. The post roll, keep your word and repeat.

One Day At A Time is your new motto. Candy, gum, exercise, water...anything but nicotine is fair game. Embrace this! You're earning your freedom.

Great choice, brother!!!

If you read through the other intro's you may see some of my same words on them but they always hold true so I will just repeat them...

You are in for one nasty fight but you have the tools here to make it.

Read everything on here, post roll call each morning and don't dip. Wow....that sounds so easy, doesn't it?

Go load yourself up with gum, mints, fake chew, seeds and beef jerky. Also get some member phone numbers right now, they will help you through the rough parts.

Next, exercise to exhaustion every single day and drink so much water that you feel like you may bust. Both of these will help.

Make sure your wife reads about what you are going through. 99% chance that you are going to be a short fussed dick for the next 3-4 weeks. Try not to take it out on her and the kids. Get on here and take it out on us, we will be fine.

Protect your quit right now which means to be selfish and make it the number one priority. Your head will be screwed up for awhile but you will make it.

I quit with you.
Oh little worm-dirt...you are so scary...F' OFF...!!!

Quit as of 9-2-13!
« on: September 03, 2013, 02:30:00 PM »
I'm Brian. I'm 32 years old and have been addicted to nicotine (smoked at first but dipped the longest) since I was 16 years old. I've tried to quit more times than I can count.

Recently my dad, who has used smokeless tobacco for as long as I can remember, found out he has some small spots on his lungs that could be cancer. We'll find out for sure in 3 months. Needless to say, that was the wake up call that I needed. Whether he has it or not, it's made the "this product could cause cancer" warning real.

So I'm doing this for my family, but most of all for myself. I don't need it and don't want it anymore. I'm ready to make the next 32 (and more) years of my life nicotine free and hopefully reduce the risk of cancer when I'm my dad's age.

Thanks for reading and I look forward to talking with you folks!
Quit Date - 9/3/13

I'm a dumb shit for getting addicted, but I'm smart enough to know I need accountability in order to stay quit. Without it, I'd fail, plain and simple.
