Today is 500 days of freedom from alcohol. Praise be to God!

The events that led up to this quit were full of denial, pain, and hurt. But when it mirrored the patterns that prompted me to post that Day 1 in August 16, I knew I had no other choice but to quit.

I've often wondered "why me?" when it came to my nic quit. Why was this cross placed in my life to fight? I think the answer has slowly been revealed to me such that it gave me the clarity to recognize my alcoholism and the tools to do something about it. But even more importantly, it gave me the examples of others who fight the fight daily and win ODAAT shoulder to shoulder.

This week also marks 10 years of freedom from nicotine. I still remember posting my Day 1 and those early days of fighting for my life. It's hard to believe it's already been a decade. I'm so thankful to all the vets that provided the tough accountability I needed to stop lying to myself and drink the koolaid. A few of these folks have since passed but I'm forever grateful for their impact on my quit and I hope to continue paying it forward.

I owe my life to KTC in more ways than one. It holds a special spot in my heart and it's a debt I'll never be able to repay. I will continue to be loud in my quits and help as many people as I can break free from the chains of addition. Proud to be quit with you all TODAY!!
