Great job on getting past your nicotine fueled habits! I was once a guiness 18 years ago too! That was back in the day when I maintained a two finger and thumb pinch in between my cheek and gum 24/7 and yes that included some sleeping time.

I went on to dipping greatness as my ever present "habit" shows itself in every picture I have from returning form deployment and smiling while holding my kids for the first time, smiling during a baptism picture, smiling while holding my last check as a soldier, smiling when buying any car or truck, smiling when on vacation...

I was STUPER SMART!

Kudos to you for not needing KTC!

Wow, it only took you about 40 posts and 42 days of quit to be cured...
There will be ups and downs in your quit. Some tough times, some easy days. With only 40 some days in, you still have a lot of firsts to get through. Life will get much tougher at some point. Are you ready for that?
But the reasoning of being/staying quit by NOT being reminded of tobacco use is addict speak. Perhaps you truely are completely ready to quit on your own forever, but the vast majority that use that particular excuse are simply leaving a future cave door open. Don't make addict excuses like it will help your quit to leave the site. If you truely believe it, why test it out by posting it first? While this site isn't for everyone, it is fact that your chances of staying quit are much higher here on KTC than going it alone. Give it some thought, exactly what are your motives for leaving?
Fish, eat, sleep. Repeat.

What? Huh? Man do you really think this is a good idea? I think we would all like to feel strong enough to do this but for me at day 66 I need this daily reminder. I am 153 days into my quit and there are still times that I get that sinking feeling, in the pit of my stomach, as I finish that last bite of food and then my eyes dart around to see where my can is.

It happens less and less and the sensation goes away in a second or two but it still sucks and shows the power of the addiction.
Oh little worm-dirt...you are so scary...F' OFF...!!!

Yes I am finding that physical activity is really helpful in the quit. Thanks a lot for the advice guys; also, when I click on things like the wildcard category it seems nothing has been posted? Is this just because indeed nobody has posted here and these are just fizzled dreams? Thanks guys

Don't know if you've been chewing on sunflower seeds, but they have worked real well for me. They have 2 great qualities for me, 1 I can pack them in my mouth and get the sensation of a huge ass pinch, 2 those bastids are high in fiber so I don't have any digestion problems. LOL Enjoy your quit and all the stuff you go through for our self-inflicted wounds of NIC.

Constipation + Nicotine makes two problems...both suck.
Seeds gum or fake chew. Stay quit.

  • Interests: I'm a guy that fears God and loves family. My family and I would be considered outsdoors people. We hunt, fish, ski, cheer, football, basketball, soccer, and baseball. My wife and I don't necessarily spoil our children, but they do get 95% of our attention. (like they should)

Get up and go do something. Anything. (Except swimming of course...wait 30 minutes lol). That's about what youre going to have to do in the beginning until you adjust to your new 'normal.' Or you could call one of us and we'll come over and kick you in the nuts...help with the digestion you know!

I know if I pack a lip it will fix this, but as I post roll and continue to do so every day of my quit I will not be using the nic for that.
