Hey Maddawg!

You're right, it is going to be uphill, just as every roller coaster ride starts out. It will also be one of the most rewarding, worthwhile things you do in life.

My advice to you is to allow yourself to be angry. Allow yourself to be uncomfortable. All the stress, the anger, and the anxiety are things that are SUPPOSED to happen. You are denying your body the poison it has learned to ask for, of COURSE it's going to try to punish you for it for a little while. But then, something amazing happens.

You begin to understand that life without dip not only exists, but it's great. No more worrying about when you can sneak away for a quick pinch. No more having to explain to your kids why daddy puts that brown stuff in his mouth. No more throwing away cash you could be using for the things I KNOW you'd rather be buying.

I've been quit for 195 days now, man, and yeah - I had to white-knuckle it early on. Most of us did. But looking back on it, it was such a small part of my quit. Such a comparatively short period of time in the scheme of 195 days, and even shorter in the grand scheme of life. Embrace the suck of it brother, and never forget how badly it sucks. I NEVER want to repeat days 1-5 again.

Quit with you today. Head on over to December 15 and post with those folks! They're a good crew and they will hold you accountable!

Never heard it said better than this: Embrace the suck of it brother, and never forget how badly it sucks. I NEVER want to repeat days 1-5 again.

You can do it. NoMore is right. FLUSH IT bro. Now............!!!! Cold turkey, get those first 3-5 days out of your system. IT WILL GET BETTER!!

December group is full of some serious bad-ass quitters, some good newbies. They are looking out for one another. Odds are there are... well ABOUT 25 guys going through the exact same thing you are going through right now in YOUR quit.

Thats the greatest thing about this site. Im at about day 37. Guys in my group are feeling EXACTLY what I am feeling. And the BEST thing is we bitch, we needle, we rant and we rave HERE. We dont save it for fam and friends. Vent here. Let it go HERE!

Read as much as you can on this site, get involved. LISTEN to the quit pros, they are full of knowledge. POST, POST, POST. Every day.

QUIT with me today will you? QUit with INVADER, and NOMORE. We can do it together! One day at a time bro!

September 22, 2015. This was the first time in ofc
Almost a decade that I went 24 hours without a dip. I did break this evening and put one in, but that will be the last. Just going 24 hours showed me terrible withdrawals. I've been abnormally angry with my wife and co-workers, and even lashed out at my boss. I can tell this is going to be an uphill battle, but my health, future, and kids are worth it. I know there's going to be a lot of cussing, arguing, and pain up ahead, but I've got a great support team in my wife and family, so.. Here's to Day One.
Yes, the first 3 days get nicotine out of your body... they truly suck. After that it is nicotine mind games while your brain rewires to operate without poison. That is hard.

Yes anger is one part of it, read the planning your quit post on the community home page to get a better idea what to expect.

Now that you are quit, flush the contents of any tin you have down the toilet. Stomp the tins into the pavement. (You already gave yourself an extra day 1, don't do that to yourself again).

Go to the December 2015 quit group and introduce yourself to the group of quitters that will reach 100 days quit in December with you. Post roll - your promise to yourself and every quitter here that you will not use nicotine in any form for 24 hours.

Feel free to let out any anger in your quit group... or in the quit chat, or in PMs to fellow quitters. Spare your family and coworkers, they didn't stuff nic in your lip and don't understand. We do.

Build up a support network by exchanging digits with fellow quitters, they can hear your anger or help you pass a craving.

Then tomorrow morning, wake up and post roll again.

You have a great support team here as well. I quit with you today.
