Hey Maddawg!
You're right, it is going to be uphill, just as every roller coaster ride starts out. It will also be one of the most rewarding, worthwhile things you do in life.
My advice to you is to allow yourself to be angry. Allow yourself to be uncomfortable. All the stress, the anger, and the anxiety are things that are SUPPOSED to happen. You are denying your body the poison it has learned to ask for, of COURSE it's going to try to punish you for it for a little while. But then, something amazing happens.
You begin to understand that life without dip not only exists, but it's great. No more worrying about when you can sneak away for a quick pinch. No more having to explain to your kids why daddy puts that brown stuff in his mouth. No more throwing away cash you could be using for the things I KNOW you'd rather be buying.
I've been quit for 195 days now, man, and yeah - I had to white-knuckle it early on. Most of us did. But looking back on it, it was such a small part of my quit. Such a comparatively short period of time in the scheme of 195 days, and even shorter in the grand scheme of life. Embrace the suck of it brother, and never forget how badly it sucks. I NEVER want to repeat days 1-5 again.
Quit with you today. Head on over to December 15 and post with those folks! They're a good crew and they will hold you accountable!
