Not planning to cave but I have half a can in the trash but lord how shittin I would feel pulling dip out the trash to use. That's where it belongs, in the Damn trash. You know its funny everytime I would dip my father in law would say " you need a refill? Go out back there's plenty of dog shit to fill that can".
Take that can and flush the contents down the toilet.

You do have a toilet right? :P

Sometimes it's just that easy but not on day 1 or day 2 because you're building momentum for life's new direction. So you fight those battles today, minute by minute if need be and if need be post roll every half hour to let the old you know that the new you has different plans and goals in life. I've already had moments come along where that post roll to a bunch of anonymous strangers was the thing that kept the quit alive for another day and I didn't even have to draw on my willpower reserves to keep going.

It'll take a bit but you can own your quit, and once you do that you get back ownership of you. I don't want to throw out flippant words to sound like I'm minimizing the shock you're under so I hope it doesn't come out that way.

Thanks gib once an addict always an addict but you don't have to use eh?? I mean I think we will always think of dip even though its disgusting and we've already quit. It comes down to willpower I guess. If I fail today I promise to not post on here anymore but as long as I'm posting I'm not dipping...
This sounds like you're planning to cave. Don't be a pussy.

Quit. Get this shit done. You're on roll for today. That means you have promised me that you will not dip today.

You gonna lie to me? I hope not.

This isn't easy. But many things that are this wonderful are seldom easy.

Thanks for the heads up I'm actually already feeling pretty crappy right now and its been 4 hours. Do you think I went at this decision wrong? I mean some people plan and plan and plan but I simply was dipping earlier and was fed up with it so I did what any normal American would do. I googled it lol but it brought me to this site which is full of faces of people constantly battling this addiction. People with family's. A lot of my day consists of dipping (can a day grizzly straight) and I'm already having doubts.
I can't say if there's a right way or not Ryan because it all comes down to you, your willpower and a series of decisions you'll make as an addict--either a quit addict or an addict using. If you're waiting to quit when it'll be easy then you'll never quit, and soon you will be wondering WTF, how did I become a dip user for 15 (or 30) years?

Many planned for quits came and went for me, some lasting as little as a half an hour before I tapped out and ran to buy the dip. This time the physical craves never were even bad but my heart, mind and soul beat the snot out of me for a few days because I was fighting an internal civil war. 71 days in I'm still winning but still fighting--a quit addict exercising my willpower.

You made the right decision to quit now.

Now hold on. This may smart a bit. Next few days are gonna be tough.

Read as much as you can on this site. Read every HOF speech. Read a quit group from beginning to today.

Then post. A lot. Pick a fight. Tell someone to go get fucked. Commiserate with your quit group. Come to chat, hang out.

Do anything but put one more flake of that shit into your body.

Welcome

"Wonder what's next," you ask? Freedom. Plain and simple. Two days is too long to be addicted to anything. Quitting now is the best thing you will ever do for you.

Freedom can be attained. Reading this site and posting roll will lead you to it if you buy in and commit that you will do whatever it takes to keep nicotine out of your body for TODAY. Then get up tomorrow and post your word the first thing and do the same. Pretty soon, it's not that hard to keep your word. Or the cancer causing cat turd out of your face. Glad to be quit with you.

Welcome.

Is this easy? Nope.

Can it be done? Yep.

Is it worth it? Oh hell yes, You have no idea how great things will be when you gain your freedom.

Post roll. Give your word. Keep your word.

Just threw the can away please give me strength so I don't buy another one. My wife loves me and I love here but I don't even get a kiss but once a week and I know why. Finally a place where people can relate. Tired of the nasty smell of dip bottles its just disgusting. I'm only a 2 yr user so I cant even imagine some of you 30+ yr users. Kudos to you guys and may god bless everyone on this forum to have enough strength to quit! I probably won't be so nice in a couple of days lol so I apologize in advance. My name is Ryan looking fwd to meeting you all. ^_^
Nice hell...be nice to your wife and your family...come in here and rage and vent and scream and snort and whatever else you have to do. We can't give you strength, we can give you support. Post roll in July 2011 EVERYDAY...find a couple of friends, keep them honest and theyll keep you honest. We addicts don't have a lot...but when we come in here we have one thing...our word. Give your word and don't break it and you'll do fine. PM me if you need anything

We can't give you the strength you are looking for. You have to want it. Then you have to go get it. Then you have to keep it. All we can do is support you and help give you advice to stay quit.

My advice to you is to quit being a pussy, man up, grab your sack and quit. Get mad cause times are going to get bad. You are gonna have to really bear down and push through them. We will be here to help, but in the end it all comes down to you.

You are in the July 2011 quit group. Go and post roll (every day) and get to know them. They will be your brothers through this journey. Did I mention yet that you should post roll (DAILY)? If not then let me take time to let you know that you really need to post roll. It is a daily promise to all those you are quitting with and all those who have quit that you will not use nictoine on that day. So that is why you need to do it daily. It is the most important thing we do, besides actually staying quit each day. Stay near the site. Things are going to get rough over the next few days escpecially. The tough love, advice, and ball breaking you'll get here will prove invaluable to your quit.

If you are reading this and you are still quit then congrats you are on your way to becoming a real man. A certified bad ass. So go up to your wife, slap her on the ass and tell her to "Give Daddy some sugar"

Stay Quit Bitches
