Hello everyone! I am currently in day 2 after dipping copenhagen practically my whole life and a am now 56 so probably 45 yrs. My God!
Ive been reading some of the stuff on the site today and I think what scares my most is the anxiety and panic attacks. I am a retired air traffic controller and probably kept those at bay with the dip. Not sure who this person will be after the fog is clear. Scary
Hi Rick,
Congratulations on deciding to quit nicotine. I dipped for over 30 years myself and was up to 3 cans a day when I quit 609 days ago. The process is simple here. We quit One Day At A Time (ODAAT). We don't worry about tomorrow because tomorrow will come with its own challenges and rewards. Only focus on getting through today.
1. Post your promise to be nicotine free for the next 24 hours
2. Keep your word
3. Repeat Daily
We Wake Up, Piss, Post (WUPP) our promise early in the day to take nicotine off the table and we do it Every Damn Day (EDD) weekends and holidays included.
Your quit group is going to be
December Pre-HOF Quit Group. You can click that link and it will take you right to it. Learn how to post roll. Keep your word and repeat every day. Start exchanging phone numbers with other quitters in your group as well as some vets. Use those numbers when the craves are rough. Also use those numbers to get to know your fellow quitters and build the bonds of brotherhood and accountability. It is much harder to break a promise to someone you know than a complete internet stranger. I guarantee you, your addict brain will come up with some damn good excuses to cave, but if you made your promise, you can overcome anything your addict brain throws at you.
I quit with you today,
Chris
