@CoachMTS

Hey Coach.  I started dipping in a high school football locker room.

When I finally stopped I asked myself would I quit if I got a diagnosis?  I had a good run.  "Loved" it but knew I was pushing my luck.  Why wait until you're diagnosed with something?  If you're anything like me you are scared that you can't do it.  You think you will fail again and what is the point?  Why put yourself and everyone else in your life through it?

But you can do it.  Making a promise to strangers (to start) made the difference for me and many others.  We know what you are going through and what you have ahead of you.  The vets here can guide you down the path and before you know it you'll have 286 days stacked.  I WAS YOU 286 DAYS AGO.

POST ROLL FOR YOU

DO IT NOW BROTHER

Day 1 Begins today - thanks for encouragement - I'm gonna need it.
@CoachMTS welcome and glad to see you posted roll. On a daily basis, wake up, piss, and then post your promise to stay nicotine free. Then keep your promise. Repeat the following day. Only worry about today. Don’t worry about tomorrow, next week, or anything else. Just get through the day. Suggest you make relationships on the site. It is isn’t about quantity, but quality. Surround yourself with people that truly care about your quit and don’t mind pissing you off to keep you accountable. Only exchange digits through personal messages. Not on the forum or here in the Intro section. You can do this and we are here to help. Shoot me a message with digits if you want to partner in our daily fight against nicotine and I will do the same.

Belated welcome aboard Coach.  I was a bit nervous for a couple days there but I'm glad you made the leap.  If you're anything like I was, you may think that your symptoms or the way/reasons you use are unique.  I quickly found that not to be the case.  You have friends here.  People here know what you are leaving behind and know what you have to look forward to.  Do yourself a favor and use them.  Make connections with people in your group and vets.  Find someone you think you can trust and get a phone number.  THIS WILL SAVE YOUR QUIT ONE DAY!!  Feels strange but it's vital.  I've got many numbers and have given my number out to many and have never had a problem...and it's saved my quit a handful of times in the last 291 days.  My number is a PM away if you like.
Happy to have you.  You got this shit.

Hold the line Brother

Title pretty much says it all.  Can't tell you how many times I've tried to quit.  Lasted a year one time but fell on hard times and went right back to it.  Sitting here with a dip in my mouth while I type this.  Gotta a half roll of Cope in the fridge.  Rationalizing the hell out of it, I'll start when I finish that roll.  I've gotta get off this stuff.

So where are you? Still finishing that half roll of Cope?

Day 1 is today.

Thank you.
@CoachMTS you are never going to think it is a great day to quit. Our addict brains don’t wok that way. Flush that shit like RDB said and go post roll. We wake up, piss, and post our promise first thing and then we keep our word for the balance of the day. Repeat the following day. You can do this and we are here to help but you have to decide living is more important that shoving a dead plant into your mouth. Choose wisely.
