Thanks everyone. And yes I agree hope is not a strategy. I'm done this time and the Quit is mine to protect. Had my teeth cleaned and gums checked the other day and everything looks great. I like my teeth white and that is how they will stay!

Matt - Fuck Hoping. You'll see a great saying around here about Hope and Faith. You need to get it into your head that you are QUIT. Post every day - early - promising to quit for that day. Then repeat each day. Read everything on this site. You will be past your 100 day (HOF) before you read all of the great shit on here. However, you will empathisize, remember, and agree with most of the info you read. You are not unique. Guard your quit and keep in touch with your quit group. PM me if you need anything.
In the mid 70s, Walt Garrison said it was okay. Just a pinch between your cheek and gums. Been a slave since until joining this fine group.

Quit 12:00 pm (noon) October 15, 2011 after 34 years.
HOF January 23, 2012

It's not how many times you get knocked down, but how many times you get back up that matters.

Day 8 for me without a dip. Cravings were strong today and as I was talking myself into un-quiting I found this site. I stopped for what I hope is good on Dec 1st. My father-in law underwent surgery for cancer in his mouth (not a dipper but a cigar smoker) this year and that was a big wake up call. He is doing well, but even with that scare it has been hard to quit. I'm hoping you guys can help give me the positive accountability I need to make my 100 days and beyond.

Don't hope. Make it happen. You will find plenty of support in here. Check your quit group out and get to know some people. IF you need a number, let me know.
