Welcome Hickory. Remember to post roll every day and make a promise to yourself you will stay nic free. I know how it is to have people around that still do it. I have a few coworkers that do and many of my friends still do. Everytime I see them take a chew I think of they are slowly committing suicide. PM some folks and get some numbers. Text your fellow quitters for support and to give support. Most of us can't sit on the website 24hrs a day but usually have a phone around.

Stay quit.

All you have to do is look at these: http://www.killthecan.org/pics/

I have forgotten about these pics. I mean I remember seeing them when I first joined the site back in September after getting a scare from my dentist. I looked at ALL of them again today. I don't think anyone wants to look at them out of fear that this could happen to them (out of sight out of mind). This has strengthened my quit as I don't want to be any of these unfortunate folks that thought they couldn't get mouth/throat cancer.

For those of us having a tough time in the early stages of our quits. This will bring a new reality and a new look on life. How are you going to kiss your wife/husband or receive a kiss on the cheek from your daughter/son if you don't have either a cheek or lips to give and/or receive from a loved one.

I know the thought of getting mouth or throat cancer is scary but the actual photos of what it looks like and the procedures to eradicate the cancer scares the shit out of me. I have been lucky flirting with the nic bitch for quite a while. Why take anymore chances?

If you are having a hard time with your quit like I have and do make these photos a regular stop in your journey. It will make your quit much more enjoyable knowing that the nic bitch will not be able to do these nasty things to you. This is her mark and I don't want anything to do with it or her.

Just a thought, not a sermon.

Only one post? Come on in, the water's fine. Maybe you got on chat yesterday?

Glad you made the decision to save your life. Getting involved here by posting roll and getting to know some folks will help reinforce that decision.

Hi all,

I'm new ti this site. Since I quit I've been on the forums reading all your posts and you've all helped in my quit. I quit on the 25th of March and still clean today from Copenhagen
I dipped for 9 years about half to a full can a day depending on what was going on. I work construction full time and every guy I work with dips so I smell and see it every day and I fight not to cave. Its gotten easier to not dip yet at the same time im more irritable now and crave about once a day. I bought smokey mountain herbal chew from walmart and it does help a lot to have something in my mouth at work. Im in my mid twenties and in good shape but have noticed I've gained probaby 10 ibs which is the least of my worries and better than cancer.

I feel I needed to come here tonight to talk cause I don't want to manipulate myself into dipping again. Its so hard being around it all day cause everytime I see a can it haunts me. Thanks for tour support all
Being around it every day can haunt you, but starting March 25th, you had no choice but to think of things differently. Hell, if you're anything like me, you look at EVERYTHING differently. So don't look at your coworkers hauntingly. Look at them disgustingly. Picture them with faces you see over in the "Cancer Pics" section of this wonderful site.

Welcome. I'd like to quit with you today. Go to the Welcome Center and figure out what to do next.
