I just joined the site today on my second day of trying to quit. I have never dealt with this much mental pain and am realizing how dependent my body has become on this stuff over the past 10 years.

Thank you all for the great words of wisdom on this site and for providing me with hope. I am trying my best to join the "quitters club"!
Welcome to the quit. You have made the best decision that you will ever make. It sucks right now and it will suck for awhile. That is our body telling us how bad that shit really is. Your goal is to make it through just today. You can worry about tomorrow, tomorrow! Take it minute by minute, hour by hour, and stay close to this site. Read everything you can on the site. I just re-read a post from one of Tom Kerns' daughter and was in tears by the end. Skoal Monster posted it in the may roll call. After reading that story you will never want to put that shit in your mouth again.

Go to the welcome page and read items 1-4, then go post roll with the May group, promising no nic for the day. Repeat tomorrow. index.php?showforum=13

In the first line, you stated you are trying to quit. I am quit and i am 28 days into my quit. it sounds like to me that trying and doing are two different things. When you try to do something it usually fails if it is important that you do it,but when you quit something you decide rigth there that it is done with. In this process of quitting you need to be 110 % deciated to being quit for one day. the motto of this site is promise to quit one day at a time, we can worry about tomorrow when it comes.

It sounds like your on your way but remember my words because the vets of the site have taught me so far this motto of one day at a time and it has worked. Happy quitting and be humble in the quit because the suck will come sooner than later. GOD BLESS you and have a nice Quit day without NIC.

HOF Speech

Quitting one day at a time is all that matters.
To be successful takes you being accountable.
