Jug how's the quit coming along? I work in the patch too. I'm a consultant on the frac side. I am currently working nights sitting in the frac van with a whole crew that dips! I'm tearing up some seeds and smokey mtn and am thriving. What helps me is telling these other guys about KTC and my quit. Don't be shy most all of these guys want to quit too but are scared! Check you PMs I'll send my digits if you want support use them.

You've made it throuh 8 days without needing that crap so there's no reason why you can't get through today. You will not die if you don't have that shit in your lip. Like Jswiss said, do whatever you have to do to keep that crap out of your face. Whenever I have a time where I'm week and crave I always fall back on I DON'T NEED THIS to get through they next hour or 5 mins or whatever.. Time still ticks away and the world will not stop if you don't have it. Hang in there buddy, the days will get better!!

Jug- get through the cravings however you can. That can include sunflower seeds, gum, toothpicks or fake chew even if you can find it. fuck - eat a cake if you must. just keep that shit out of your face. 8 days in is bad ass.
it will get easier, I promise. I'm 32 - started at 15 and finally did the right thing to quit. we all quit with you today. and hope to see you tomorrow.

Thanks Bert. I work on an oil rig as sort of a service hand. So I'm out here on location, sitting in the trailer. I do most of my job from the trailer and don't have to actually go up on the rig floor too often. Been dreading going up on the rig floor since I got here 2 days ago, haven't been on a rig floor without a dip ever that I recall. But it's just another step, I had to drive 9 hours to get here and I made it through that so I'll be ok. It ain't easy being around the shit all day, living with guys that dip. No excuses tho, I got this shit!

Day 8
« on: December 08, 2016, 09:14:00 AM »
Hey guys, been browsing the site for a few days and decided to do roll call this morning. Well, I'm on day 8 of my quit and it's going okay I guess. I've been telling myself all year that I would quit when I turned 30, which was 11/16. Took my a couple weeks after that date to actually get started. Been dippin for about 15 years, can a day for the last several years. Married with 2 kids, 1 of which is an 11 year old boy so I think about him during this quit. He's nearing the age of when I started. I know its much easier to take that first dip if dad does the same thing, also how the hell am I gonna say shit to him with a dip in myself. However, make no mistake this quit is for myself. Anyway, feel like I'm pulling out of the fog stage but these fuckin dull headaches are pissing me off.
