Cravings are scars that you'll just have to live with. I have a scar on my right index finger becuase I put it through the ring of a basketball rim when I was a teenager. Stupid thing to do. The scar is my reminder that I shouldn't do stupid things.

Your cravings are your scar. Live with it. Like all scars, it will fade away but never completely disappear.
This is gold...Per. Awesome way to explain it!

I quit with you today too TA2011!
Agreed D.

Craves=scars=stupid makes a lot of sense...

Nice work, per. Thanks for another arrow in my quiver of quit.

Congrats on taking your life back.

The cravings won't go away. They'll become less frequent, and when they do come, they won't last quite as long. You may get a monster crave in week 5... but don't cave. Call a brother, head to chat, hit the boards. Don't let the monsters get to you.

Day three is a big day. After today, the physical goes and the mental is all that remains. Get through today. Tomorrow will take care of itself. If you need anything, PM me.

Proud to be quit with you. Now go post roll.

OK, here goes. 36 years old, have been chewing for 20 of them, which is scary knowing that's more than half my life. Have tried to quit a few times before, with limited success, but keep falling back into it. Just discovered this forum today so figured I'd join - some moral support may be just what I need for the long haul quit.

I've quit chewing several times before using nicotine gum, and for various lengths of time. I'm sure I'm not the only guy to have swapped one source of nicotine for another. Problem is it's expensive, and just a different form of addiction. So I went cold turkey (i.e. nicotine free) on Saturday, and this is day 3. So far so good, but am defnitely feeling the fog. Withdrawals not so bad otherwise.

How do you do the roll call thing? And how long until the effing cravings go away?
cold turkey is the way to go, brother. nice work going it alone.

i have great news: you'll never have to go through the first three days of quitting ever again. i take it back, that's great fucking news!

how to do roll: Roll Call Movie... 5 stars

why do roll: loot says it best

post roll every MORNING. keep your word like a man. wake up tomorrow and do it again. only focus on making it through today; tomorrow will take care of itself.

you've got this. you're calling the shots with this quit. proud to be quit with you!

(hit me up with a pm if you need me)
