I see you logged in but haven't posted roll. You missed yesterday and now it is close to 2:15PM EST. You got to keep posting EDD and early.

Glad to see you quit it cold.....everything else, other "methods" are all bullshit. Complete and utter bullshit. Listen to these vets around here, not a single one is clueless, they know what it is all about.

It does get better man. I never imagined 40 days in but I am here and the first day struggle feels like ancient history. Just need one day, one promise at a time.

Wouldn't hurt to see the dentist for some peace of mind. It is probably nothing but it is always much better to detect a problem early on rather than let it get serious. Good job

Today should be day 3 for you, that's bad ass. These days are not easy to come by. As fo your original question, is there any best method to quitting, or just do it?:

You're in luck! There is a best method.it has worked for me everyday since May 12, 2014. It isn't however a magic pill that you and I were hoping we'd find when we googled some variant of "how to quit dipping." this method i speak of quitting one day at a time. It's accomplished by giving your word and being held accountable to that word. Every single one of us here are nicotine addicts, just like you. What better a place to hold you accountable than a place with hundreds and thousands of nicotine addicts?

The first step in this process however is on you. You must give your word by posting roll. That's your word as a man, given to your brothers in February 2016 quit group, that you will not use nicotine today. you can keep your word for 1 day right? There will be a good number of supporters who post their promise with you as well, to let you know that it is possible and you are not alone in this fight.

I see you posted roll on day 1 a couple days ago, but haven't posted roll since. Well if you are ready for freedom and put any value in your word, this method will lead you to freedom from nicotine. Next step is up to you, it's our job to show you the path, you've gotta be the one who walks it.

Regarding your oral fixation question, there are a number of ways to help tackle craves. These are fake, seeds, gum, beef jerky, hard candy (fireballs). Many people use some or all of these tools while walking the aforementioned path, some don't. I used fake dip (hooch spitfire was my favorite, grinds was decent, Smokey Mountain is probably 2nd most popular) and beef jerky pretty heavy early on. Eventually I just kind of stopped using it except rare occassions and now I havent bothered looking for the couple of cans i know are laying around in 6+ months. I still chew seeds at baseball games sometimes. Some quitters are in the camp that they want to simultaneously break the habit of stuffing chopped brown plants in their mouth, addictive and cancerous, or not. My suggestion is it doesnt hurt to try, but the important thing is getting on roll and taking charge of your quit every day.

The other day, I noticed a couple white patches on my gums and some thick blood spit out after brushing. Scared the shit out of me. That's what pushed me to quit. So I found your site. The gums are healing, I think it's. Probably just a fungal infection I'll.have looked at if it's not gone in a. Week.
Most likely bacterial gingivitis, a common infection of the gums. You need to brush after every eating and floss at least once daily until it clears up. The tobacco may not cause the problem but it exacerbates the problem. Dip is an irritant to the gums, and some has sugar in it, so its like feeding the bacteria underneath your gum line 24 hours a day.

Personally, I've tried the fake stuff. Mainly Nip Energy Dip and Grinds. They were both alright, but much rather preferred Grinds because I like coffee.

I'm going onto day 75 now and I haven't touched the fake stuff in probably over a month. Early on the fake stuff can help but try to too depend on it too much.

For me, I realized that replacement therapy would not be an option because I dipped constantly.

So, I did not switch to something else except at night time. Then I use hard candy or fireballs.

My main thing this time is to not think my old habit but to instead think about everything else.

Change your mind to focus on other things going on your life. If you shift your focus, you will minimize the time you spend thinking about the quit.

This is a mind game.

You will win this one.

So here I am sitting in chick-fil-a's parkinglot . Finishing up my sandwich and sipping lemonade. Now would be the time I'd throw in a nice juicy wad of copenhagen winter green. Oh man it sounds great right now. I need to find myself a new oral fix. 2 days nic-less and it's not as bad as I expected so far. Today was my first day calling roll. I think I did it right? I'll need a bit to learn navigation of this site.

I'm not experiencing any symptoms of withdrawal other than a break in concentration.. it's strange, I almost feel stoned. And I couldn't tell ya the last time I smoked pot.. been probably 2 or 3 years. Lol

Any way, for the last 5 or so years, I've been dippin cope. Wintergreen and straight. Usually a can a day.
The other day, I noticed a couple white patches on my gums and some thick blood spit out after brushing. Scared the shit out of me. That's what pushed me to quit. So I found your site. You can do this STP. Power through today by using seeds, gum, toothpicks, whatever. Drink a ton of water. Most importantly give nicotine the ol 'Finger' today, all damn day. If you need anything, don't be afraid to reach out.
"Fuck nicotine dude. You don't need it. And you don't want it. It didn't do a thing for you and you know it." - worktowin
"today you dissided that shit wont control your life. and it wont. unless you let it." - drome
"Not thinking about nicotine is for people who've never used nicotine. We threw that option away with the first dip or drag on a cigarette. We are addicts, and cannot become un-addicted." - wildirish317
"You need to decide how much you really want to be quit." - pky1520
We are always at risk. And probably always will be. That is why I will never get "too quit" to post my +1. Every. Damn. Day. - geis2597
