Today? Man ... I am so out of it right now. I feel stoned. I feel like I'm in a dream. I feel detached. I feel like this isn't real life. I am confused ... I just don't even know what to think. I won't be the least bit productive today. And it's a Monday, of all days.

That describes exactly how I felt early in my quit. I didn't have the headaches or rage or other physical symptoms that others here describe. I felt exactly how you describe - stoned and confused.

Welcome a nicotine free life. Make your promise, keep your promise. It's that simple. Hard as hell, but simple.

Hi Sim,

First off, nice job on deciding to quit! But you need to dump all that cope out NOW! 50/50 is not quit, that is just giving your body a smaller dosage of nicotine. Go dump all that shit out, and then call it day 1.

Your first day symptoms are pretty common. Here is SYMPTOMS you may experience when you quit... Also, here is some other useful information you want to click on --- READ ME. Once you read all this it is time for you to post your day 1 on the roll call of your quit group... It takes about 20 seconds to do so every morning and you post your username, quit day number, and promise to not use nicotine for that day. Here is your JUNE 2018 QUIT GROUP. Go over there, post an intro to everyone and post your roll call. Here is a link to a video to help you posting roll, KTC ROLL HELP VIDEO.

This is an exciting time for you Sim, take advantage of all the tools KTC has to offer, and please reach out to any quitter with any questions or anything. We are all here for each other and were in your shoes at one point.

Quit on,

Big Red
I know, that's why I am saying TODAY is Day 1. I'm not counting yesterday because yesterday I was dipping 50/50 mix.

Today? Today I haven't had the slightest amount of nicotine ... NOTHING!! IT'S DAY ONE! Thanks for the links.

When I stopped dipping 10 years ago, or so, I used a forum called QuitSmokeless.org -- did daily roll call over there too. Looks like that forum is dried up now for the most part. Glad to be here. I'll be checking in daily.

It's been 10 hours, 6 minutes, and 12 seconds since I last had any nicotine. And it was half the amount, at that (50/50 can of Smokey Mountain and Copenhagen Mint Long Cut).

I went to bed last night with a plan ... a plan to quit chewing. I made it through ALL day yesterday without a pure Copenhagen dip -- I chewed a full can of 50/50 mix -- meaning I only chewed half a can of Cope yesterday. That's half the amount of my normal can-a-day.

I was spacey as can be all day yesterday ... completely out of it. I wanted to throw in a real dip so bad. But I forced myself to stick to the 50/50 mix.

Today? Man ... I am so out of it right now. I feel stoned. I feel like I'm in a dream. I feel detached. I feel like this isn't real life. I am confused ... I just don't even know what to think. I won't be the least bit productive today. And it's a Monday, of all days.

Is that how you all felt on day 1, too?

Some 10 years ago I stopped this terrible habit for 8 months. It was incredible. I still remember how great I felt once I got over the hump. I also remember how awful the withdrawals were. I'm back ... again. But you know what? This will be the last time I have to deal with nicotine withdrawals.

I AM DONE!

I am 34 years old, with a wife and two young children -- a 2.5 year old daughter and a son that just turned 1. I've always used dip as a crutch, to get me through everything ... no matter what it was. And that's led to a 15+ year habit that, up until the end there, meant me having a dip in my mouth 99% of my waking hours. I would take it out when I needed to eat or when I needed to put a new one in.

It's time. This is my day 1. And I look forward to looking back at this post one day in the future and saying, "holy crap -- I did it!!"
SIM1,

188 days a go I posted a very similar introduction, and let me be the first to tell you that you made a great decision. I'm 38 and dipped for 20 years, and also have four young children. I will give you a little tip that helped me get through the nasty craves and withdrawals you are about to go through. Every time I had the urge to cave, I used to think about how awful it would feel to look up from my death bed and see my four young kids and wife looking down at me with tears in their eyes watching me die. Then I just ask myself a very simple question, "Is a dip worth causing that much pain to my family?".

It's going to be a very difficult battle here at the start, but get your ass in your group and post roll every damn day. Make the commitment and promise everyday, and you will get to the other side.

Glad to quit with you today.
