HELP! I'm a Newbie trying to quit. I've been dipping for about 4 years now and up to about a tin a day. I came out about it to my fiance about 2 weeks ago and she is being supportive, but doesn't know how. I don't know how I want her to be.

All I know is that it is the time I usually put a dip in and my gums are craving the taste! It hasn't even been 24 hours yet!
De, you want help man? Learn to help yourself, educate yourself to why it is in your best interest not to put a dip in your mouth. Read around, there's a lot of good information here about what nicotine and dip is doin to your body. You've got to want the quit, there's no easy out, you've literally been putting poison in your body for awhile now, you didn't think this would be easy right?

Posting roll everyday and renewing your commitment to your fiance, your quit brothers and more importantly to yourself that you will be quit that day. It's that simple De, manning up and growing some quit balls, that's the hard part, but embrace this suck, it will make you so much stronger not only in your quit but in life in general.

We can help you, your fiance can help you, but its on you to be quit, to make the decision to be a slave to the can no longer.

If you need anything, pm me, I'll be here for support,
Bruce

Great choice, brother!!! Click on "KilltheCan.org" link above. Then look at the bottom, right side of the page...Featured Articles. Read the Tom  Jenny Kern Story. Then ask yourself if a crave is really that big of a deal?

You have an opportunity to avoid all of that...the disfiguring surgery, the relentless sadness, etc. Spare yourself the anger and grief. Spare those who love you the most...they are really the ones who get crushed the hardest.

Focus your anger on the product that would take it all away. Think about Big Tobacco draining your bank account a can a day. Think about Big Tobacco making you leave your loved ones early. Know this, every memory of you will be tainted by nicotine. You and your family will learn to hate nicotine...one way or another.

Stay strong. You've made a great choice. Don't go down the road of chemo and surgery just because you couldn't handle a crave every now and again...

Well you took the all important first step and quit that shit. Now it's time to make your quit stick one day at a time. Click on the salmon colored link at the top left of your screen titled "Welcome Center."

Here's the deal:

We post roll everyday. Roll is a promise to your assigned group that you will not use tobacco or any nicotine for only that one day. Then you repeat everyday. Your group is July 2012 and you can find it in the Quit Groups forum. Now go find your group and post your Day #. If you quit yesterday, today is Day 2. If you quit today, then its Day 1.

You already have one thing in common with everyone on this site (i.e., we all had Day 1's)

Check your PM box as well.

you do this minute be minute to begin with. the you will graduate to hour by hour. It won't be easy, but you can definately do this.

Get some gum sunflower seeds, atomic fireballs, etc.

Also get some pure cranberry juice, not the sugary crap. Tastes like crap but it helps with the detox.

Lots of water.

And if worse comes to worse, procede to the nearest desk, cabinet drawer etc... open the drawer..... Insert nuts..... Slam Drawer ...... Crave cured!

You can do this..
