Congrats RK! stay strong, read read read. Get involved with your quit group. Just like Pab, I never would have made it without using the fake. I've used Jake's, Chatahooche, and teazea. When I first quit I was going through a can of the fake a day, now I only need to put a fake in once every few days, sometimes once a week. It gets better.

Congratulations rk! I'm on day 135 quit. Don't think I could have made it this far without my tobacco free bacoff! You are correct it's all about oral fixation. Proud to be quit with you!
Tobacco is so addictive it took me a year after a massive heart attack, in which doctor confirmed caused from dipping to finally put a lid on the bitch! ODAAT EDD

Welcome RKnight and Congrats on making it thru week one. As far as fake chew goes if you think you can manage without it, I would suggest going that route. For me, I actually starting mixing it in with my skoal for about a month before my quit date, gradually increasing the amount of fake. I went with Jakes Chew because it is organic mint leaves and some other organic stuff, no sugar to further decay your teeth. For taste, probably Smokey Mountain is better and more similar to the real stuff but not as healthy. I am on day 54, and still carrying around the fake can and spit cup which I am not proud of but it, along with this site has kept me nic free. Read all you can on this site and post every day. Quit with you brother, pm me if you need anything.

Welcome RKnight! Great decision to Quit, and congrats on making it a week!

I used fake dip early in my Quit. I used it pretty much for the first couple hundred days, and one day, I just stopped. Like Twort says, as long as there is ZERO nicotine in it, I say use whatever helps!

PM me if you need anything.
What is your major malfunction?!?!?!?!

The rule of thumb around here is don't use dip/chew/snuff. Anything else that keeps you quit is fair game as long as there is zero nicotine. Welcome!

Day 7 - Feeling Fidgety - First post
« on: May 11, 2015, 01:37:00 PM »
Day 7.

I find my tongue wandering aimlessly around my mouth looking for its dip.

But surprisingly smoother after 7 days free in there.

Ordering some tobacco free/nicotine free herbal snuff to pin the withdrawal back until i can work on losing the oral fixation. Any suggestions?

I've already chewed down most of my nails so this is the next best option. Anyone think getting nicotine/tobacco free herbal snuff is a bad idea? Just enabling the habit of putting something under my lip?

Any thoughts are appreciated.
