next step? reach out and make some friends around here, get some phone numbers for the days when you'll fail without them, I had some of those and think most guys do. Use the numbers before you need to so that you aren't too big of a puss to pull out the phone and call. Nice to see you still here and posting, let me know if I can help your quit. I'm happy to help a brother in need out and only ask that you be there for me if I'm having one of those days!

Hey guys, want to thank all of you for the support. Quitting is always a "bitch" done this shit many times and something always triggers and I cave. Thats why I am here. What was finally the last straw for me was one morning I stopped for gas and my daily coffee and can of Twolf straight, and they were running a deal 1.00 of when you buy 2 cans. I know the store manager pretty well and usually stop to talk. Told him just one can and I needed to quit. Very frankly he told me that he hears guys in there daily saying that they are buying there last can. Wow am I really one of those guys?? That was my wakeup call.

No one close to me seems to understand and certainly not my wife. She doesn't get how conniving and evil the shit is. I have been wanting to quit for a while, just wasn't ready. One thing I have learned is you best have your shit together before you quit. Every time that i wasn't really serious and ready I would cave after a couple days. I need an asskicker! I have quit before for 1+ yrs, so I know I can do it. What got me before was i was riding with a coworker and he had a can of skoal wintergreen longcut (not even my old chew) but I could literally taste the shit, the crave was so strong. I know now that it doesn't matter how long you are quit, the shit will hit you when you least expect or when you are weakest.

Thats where all you come in. I know now I cant do this thing alone, I know between God and you guys i can beat this stuff.

I didn't open up like this at first cause i wanted to be sure about the site. I see now that the site is set up to make successful quitters and is the "real deal" looking forward to getting to know more of you! Thanks
Post roll early, every day. Stay quit for 24 hrs and repeat. Simple and foolproof.

Hard?

You bet.

Worth it?

Fuckin A!

Dude, make it permanent.
Don't buy another can. Don't borrow another can. When a dip is offered - before they even offer it - say no.

No more dip. The withdrawal pain sucks. It's pure hell. Choose how you'll respond: I chose to be sarcastic about the withdrawals. I was saying stuff like "AAAHHHWWW YYYEEEAAHHH BRING IT ON!!" every time the pain kicked in, and the fog doused my brain. Get pissed off and do some hard labor. Smack a tree with an ax.

But choose to not dip and choose to do something else instead.

Every day, first thing in the morning post roll. Before you have coffee, before you take a piss, get on the computer and post roll.

It's your promise to yourself and to us that you will not use nicotine at all today.

And that promise does make THE difference.

Can't remember how many times this makes I have quit, or rather briefly stopped dipin. Love to make it permanent, one day at a time.
All the times you paused or stopped briefly don't mean shit! Every can for 35 years was my last can. I can't count all the cans I pitched after 1 or 2 dips. Post roll in May 2013 group and commit to stay quit 1 day at a time it works. Reach out and get acquainted to your group. Get numbers so you can call out for help. After 300+ days I can tell you early days suck but it is possible and sooo rewarding. Freedom is fantastic!
