Thank you all for the input and motivation yesterday. To answer one question, I was planning on waiting until I was out of the in-laws and back in my house after the remodel, that's why my quit date was jan 1st, 2015. After receiving your responses and PMs, I decided to quit this bitch last night at 11pm. Dumped the cans. I'm 15 hours in and doing ok so far. Heart rate skyrocketing from time to time and a little dizzy. I am trying to find a place to buy some fake snuff, using seeds right now. Will order online if no luck. I was a Skoal Longcut Wintergreen guy, so looking for somthing close I guess. Hooch snuff? Smokey Mountain?
I went to the Quit groups but couldn't find the December 2014 group, not litsed. I do see the Pre HOF December 2014, but I assume that's for guys coming up on one year, right? If you could point me in the right direction I'd like to post roll on my 1st day.
Great decision man!
Keep in mind that the fake dip will only satisfy the oral fixation and the routines, rituals, and habits associated with your former life of dipping. The psychological side of it.
Absent of nicotine, it will not help with the real chemical addiction that exists within you and all of us. So, you will still get the worst headaches imaginable. You will experience the fog. You will have tension in your neck and shoulders. You will be irritable. You will be paranoid. You will have thoughts you never had before. You can only alleviate these symptoms, but they won't be completely eradicated- by most accounts this can last up to two weeks.
I am only on day 30 but I can tell you after day 10, I felt like a new human. Energetic, motivated, clear-minded, focused. Like a fucking Buddhist monk.
And the funny part is- I was a considerably light dipper of skoal pouches for only 2 years. And the shit STILL fucked me up during withdrawals.
Time will stand still the next few days. Stock up on Excedrin for Migraine (this really fucking helps), fake dip, and lots of water. Post roll every day. You'll feel better when the fog lifts.
