Tobacco is so addictive it took me a year after a massive heart attack, in which doctor confirmed caused from dipping to finally put a lid on the bitch! ODAAT EDD

After day three the nicotine is out of your system Jake. Then it becomes a battle with your brain. Stay the course and get through the suck - stick with it and you'll never have to go through these days again.

I quit with you today!

Jake, if you're able to send a text, that's the best way to do it, but also see if one of your quit bros will exchange email addresses.

So first - tell your group the dates that you're going to be away. You'll do everything you can to be on roll, but if you aren't it's because you truthfully can't.

Second, do your best to find a way to text or email your promise daily.

Great attitude though man, way to stay ahead of it!

I quit with you today!
Just one and you will be back where you started.
And where you started was desperately wishing
you were where you are right now.

How should I post roll when I am in Shanghai next week? I'd like to find a way to be held accountable even with the great fire wall. I'm not sure how much internet access I'll have.

Jake I PMed you.
So jake you should have phone service? Get numbers and text your promise daily and congratulations on your decision to take your life back!
Jake is on day one and is already concerned about missing roll. I love it! This is the proper attitude! Even in Shanghai, the best way to quit is one day at a time, every damn day.

I compare this thread to another recent introduction where the rest of us are jerks for caring that a new quitter went missing for a week. I quit with you today Jake!
Way to be jake. Glad to see you are on top of things while you are going to be away. That is awesome man. Get with your quit brothers and discuss it openly with them. You guys should be able to hatch a well placed plan in action. Us guys in October had a guy go to Africa and climb Mt Something or other....l Some big mountain there and we worked it out with him quite easily.

So kick back and enjoy the ride man. When in doubt, come on site and jump on live chat, call a buddy in quit or something, just don't give in. It will get better man. hang tough!

See ya on roll!

Ray

It's been 11 years since I began dipping on the golf course in high school. I always would turn it down but then one day I decided I'd give it a go. That was the worst decision I've ever made and I was only 16. Since then I've dipped copenhagen longcut daily. I've made it 2 months as a maximum before succumbing to the cravings and now I've made the decision it has to go. Playing football in college I had the chance to dip daily and couldn't make myself quit. It was everywhere. I feel as though now I can do it. I've never been a part of a group like this but I believe it's what was missing. Somewhere to go when it feels like there's only the dip to lean on. I'm excited for my new life moving forward and taking this one day at a time.

Thank you ahead of time for all the support. Reading posts before signing up has helped give me more and more confidence. I look forward to being a part of this community.

Right on Jake! Welcome man and congrats on getting roll.

If you're on day 1 then strap in. The nicotine will be out of your system in 3 days, but the fun is just beginning. Just know that everyone in your group is dealing with it and everyone on this site has dealt with it. It won't kill you - you can bear it.

I'll encourage you to stay true to your intro and to become a part of the community. That means posting roll early and every single day, but it also means connecting with the people in your group and others. Exchange your phone numbers, use them before there is a problem. Update your intro with what you're dealing with, engage with your group, engage with other groups, welcome new quitters. All of these things will strengthen your defenses and keep you quit. Sometimes these conversations seem repetitive, but hey, we're all addicts so shouldn't be too bothered by repetition.

You got this man, realize it's going to suck for awhile, but it will get better.

Shoot me a PM if you need digits or if I can help in any way.
I can't say it any better than the 2 solid quitters in the posts above, so let me just say welcome to KTC! I've been dipping for 36 years since I was 14. Like you I've tried to quit by myself several times only to fail. This time it feels different though. There's a lot of great support here and a wealth of information on how to quit and some examples of how not to as well. I've been able to learn form both the quitters and the cavers.

Be aware that you're expected to post you days quit in your group everyday. And post your promise not to use, early in the day "WUPP!" Don't be afraid to share your phone number with some guys in the group. It took me a while to warm up to that idea, but it's important to have some digits in case you find yourself in a 911 situation.

Again welcome to the group! You can do this if you take it one day at a time. It's not easy, but it can be done.

Proud to be quit with you today brother!

You've made a great choice to quit Jake! I see you already posted up with the badasses in October. We quit one day at a time here. We make our promise as soon as we wake up every day. Quitting forever is too hard but quitting for one day can be done by everyone. Quitting is hard but it's simple. Post roll, keep word, repeat.
