It's been 11 years since I began dipping on the golf course in high school. I always would turn it down but then one day I decided I'd give it a go. That was the worst decision I've ever made and I was only 16. Since then I've dipped copenhagen longcut daily. I've made it 2 months as a maximum before succumbing to the cravings and now I've made the decision it has to go. Playing football in college I had the chance to dip daily and couldn't make myself quit. It was everywhere. I feel as though now I can do it. I've never been a part of a group like this but I believe it's what was missing. Somewhere to go when it feels like there's only the dip to lean on. I'm excited for my new life moving forward and taking this one day at a time.
Thank you ahead of time for all the support. Reading posts before signing up has helped give me more and more confidence. I look forward to being a part of this community.
Jake
Right on Jake! Welcome man and congrats on getting roll.
If you're on day 1 then strap in. The nicotine will be out of your system in 3 days, but the fun is just beginning. Just know that everyone in your group is dealing with it and everyone on this site has dealt with it. It won't kill you - you can bear it.
I'll encourage you to stay true to your intro and to become a part of the community. That means posting roll early and every single day, but it also means connecting with the people in your group and others. Exchange your phone numbers, use them before there is a problem. Update your intro with what you're dealing with, engage with your group, engage with other groups, welcome new quitters. All of these things will strengthen your defenses and keep you quit. Sometimes these conversations seem repetitive, but hey, we're all addicts so shouldn't be too bothered by repetition.
You got this man, realize it's going to suck for awhile, but it will get better.
Shoot me a PM if you need digits or if I can help in any way.
