Howdy from Jolly old England. I have been quit ever since moving here, despite having access to dip on the military bases. Fortunately it's rationed so I never got a ration card. Made it easier to not deal with it. Every great once in a while I get a craving for dip, I just substitute some candy or sunflower seeds. I hope everyone is doing well and I follow the killthecan facebook page.

Stay quit folks!

901 days free as of today.

Mike

Busy busy busy, 88 days so far. Our household goods get moved next week and my son and I board a plane for PA on the 21st. Stress has been a constant companion. Even worse for my wife since shes leaving for England on the 25th and we wont see her until October when we fly over. Still not gonna cave. I look forward to posting and it will suck when I'm not able too. No internet at my folks place and getting rid of my phone. I'll have to spend some time in the leper colony to make up for that. I look forward to posting roll from OCONUS though haha. Guess we'll have to start an international section for killthecan. I remember bumming a dip from some swedes in Bosnia, shit tasted like alum it was soo bitter. Nothing like American dip. Stay quit my friends, that shit is everywhere!

So 60s days of quit have come and gone. Cravings and triggers are much easier to deal with now. I ordered 12 cans of hooch a couple weeks ago for an emergency stash. I've only used 3 cans so far. Some days I don't need a dip of hooch and that is a small triumph. I decided to tackle my diet also, fuck, if I can make nicotine my bitch I can do this with weight loss too. Staying quit has motivated me and my diet is working, no matter how sick and tired I am of vegetables lol.

Thanks all, yet another step on the road to a life of good health and freedom from the beast. August quitters, I'm quit with ya!
60 days is huge bro. Glad to be quit with you.
Thanks man, so am I. That fishing tournament I was telling you about that we missed due to the weather? They held it last weekend and my buddies took 1st prize with a 30lb mahi. Hopefully next time I'll get to go haha.

Those plus 1's start to come really fast. In no time you will be close to HOF. Every Damn Day, it's how we roll. Keep it close my friend, she is always close in the early days.
Looking forward to it! My family and I have yet another major life event coming up soon. We're moving to England for up to 10 years between August and September. My wife and I have both lived overseas before we were married but this move will be as a family. No shooting for me 'bang head' which is something I really enjoy doing. The benefit is that the dip monkey shouldn't be as accessible except at the shoppette on base. I will get over this hurdle and stay quit!
That's some big changes bro! Sounds exciting! Be glad the dip is one last thing to worry about! Stay quit and stay in here with us! I quit with you!
Thanks Eddie, and congrats on 60 days of quit to you!

So today is day 41 for me, feels good, but I'm looking forward to day 400 and day 4000, one day at a time, every day quitting. I feel I've been fairly fortunate as that the cravings haven't been really bad for me this time around and the 3 days of hell were pretty manageable initially. I wonder what trap nicotine has lying in store for me for days 50, 70, and 120. I've been reading here of course and have seen people have problems on those days with cravings. I've got to remain vigilant and not cave. Fuck that, myself and my family are too important to cave.

I quit with you one day at a time.
Day 41 is a good day to be quit my friend. Day 42 will get here soon enough, just worry about today. I can't say when and even if you will have any difficulties. Just take it one day at a time and enjoy your freedom. You are having some good days right now, enjoy them, stay vigilant and don't let your guard down. NAFAR and ODAAT.

The poison sucks. I hate it. I hated it this morning, I hated it at noon, I hated it at supper and I hate it tonight. I enjoy hating it so much I'm going to wake up tomorrow and start over hating it. I quit with anyone that wants to hate it with me.

So far so good today, haven't really thought about a dip, had a good workout this morning and the air is pretty clean smelling. I live in Colorado and we are having a lot of forest fires right now, the smoke has been pretty bad in the evenings when the winds shift, enough that it looks yellow outside from the light reflecting and visibility is less then a couple miles. That smoke triggers a crave, memories of sitting around a campfire and having a big ol dip in. Sucks, but what are you gonna do except suck it up and drive on with quitting! Thanks for the support folks, it's appreciated.
You know what's greater than sitting around a fire with a lipper in brother? Sitting around a fire without one. Try it out. Your going to find out in time that putting poison in your lip was useless and good for nothing. All the good times are better without the poison. My worst day without a dip is better than my best day with one. I quit with you.

Mraugh welcome,
It sounds to me like you are on the right track... you have been given good advice and support. The bad asses here are right it has to be done for you, you own your quit. For me like others here once I admitted to myself that I am an addict the desire and drive to keep quit increased. Yep you like me are an addict the difference between us and crack whores is legality of our substances.

It is good to your spouse for support...she may want to read the spouses section of the site. Keep her in the loop that will help provide another layer of accoutability.

PM me if you need anything.

Complacency sucks, one moment of it is the difference between being a user and a quitter....OIB

Mraugh,, good job on your quit and welcome. It looks like your holding strong. It gets better and better man. Your in the heart of the fight right now. A little advice I like to give is read everything you can on nicotine if you haven't yet. Learn your enemy well. The better you know this enemy the easier the fight will be. One day at a time and you got this brother. Give me a PM if you need anything.
