Big day bro. Great accomplishment, yet just another +1. Stay vigilant.

Our train has to make one more stop today to pick up a bad ass that basically wrote his own acceptance onto the train.
"Jake-
I'll keep this pretty short. I am married with twin 10 year old girls. I live in Sacramento, Ca. I drive a BMW 525 and work for a health care PR lobbying firm. Before my quit I dipped Copenhagen and only Copenhagen for the better part of 25 years. I am bringing a bottle of Johnny Walker and a couple of bottles of nice red wine, because at the end of the night that is what everyone needs to shut her down. In high school I was known to jump off roofs in my underwear into swimming pools. I credit JRizzle, Duathman ,BillyBill and the ever insightful JBob for helping me out in the beginning. "
Peace
Denny
That was all so well put me breaking it up would only wast time. Well said Denny, and get your ass signed up for 200 bro! Congratulations and don't forget what it took to get here! Jake and I Quit with you today. Erussell -147-

Welcome! Bean is 100% right, cold turkey is the only way.  Because the only way to quit dipping (read: nicotine) is to STOP USING NICOTINE.  Period.  I see you got bumped off roll call but I fixed it.  Go back and look at your name.  Look at it with pride, look at all the other badass quitters that are right next to you.  Look below at ALL the support you guys have.  Damn that's an amazing thing, you can't buy that with all the money in the world.

Proud to have you aboard, stay close and keep busy reading everything here.

DennyX
Then my bump fix got bumped! It happens, with speed you get better.
Denny - glad you made it here - you're not here by accident; get numbeers from the other quitters and use them - one on one dip always kicks my ass - with the support of these other quitters we kick the piss out of dip everyday - peace - Jbob
Welcome to the site Den! You'll be joining us in the Sep quit group. We're glad to have you.

Bean, Denny,  Jbob nailed it. This choice is yours. Surround yourself with accountability and support. Get to know us in the Sep group. I'm PMing you with my digits; if you'd like to join our text conversation thread we'd love to have ya. Remember you quit a day, an hour, and a moment at a time. Spend some time reading the effects of chew on the killthecan.org website; that will both distract you and give you an appropriate level of hatred (which should be enormous) for tobacco and nicotine.

I quit with you today brother.
JRizzle

Thanks for reaching out and caring enough to PM me. It means a lot and I plan on making use out of this help that is being offered.

Thanks Again-
Denny

Jbob-
Thanks for the words of wisdom. I plan on getting numbers and using them. I know I have to do this for myself, but I will need the help of others in this group.

Peace

Thanks for the encouragement.  After having spent all this time and money on this disgusting habit, I need to kick it's ass back to where it came from.  I look forward to the support that I know I will need in the weeks ahead.

Peace-

Welcome to the site.

One correction. Jacking your dick is a habit. Picking your nose is a habit. Calling Gmann a fag is habit.

Stuffing your face with cancer and killing yourself slowly is an ADDICTION. And that make you an...ADDICT. You are no different than a $2 crack whore....and in a lot of ways worse.

There is an important distinction between the two. Understand the difference. Grasp the difference. Embrace the difference. Until you do, you will never see it for what it is...and are far, far more likely to relapse.

LOOT hates to be the guy to rain on your parade but it is imperative that you get it. Don't get pissy, we all understand. We all convinced ourselves we had a habit at one time too. We all felt like shit when it was pointed out to us and the light went on. But until that switch flips, you'll never OWN your quit.

Go read the Welcome Center stuff. Understand WHY we post Roll Call before you actually do it. The WHY is much more important than the HOW.

Again...welcome. Yell if you need anything. We are all only a couple of keystrokes away.
Loot

Thanks for taking the time to point some things out for me. I am fully aware that what I am is an addict. I guess I need to realize that and deal with that on a daily basis. One day at a time. I chose to quit.

We all want progress, but if you're on the wrong road, progress means doing an about-turn and walking back to the right road; in that case, the man who turns back soonest is the most progressive.

Has tobacco been so kind to you that you should leave it with regret? There are far better things ahead than any we leave behind.

Come join us. Come be quit with us. Rather than slowly commit suicide, slowly regain your health. It might hurt at first, but it won't kill you. And once the birthing process is done you'll find yourself a free man. With friends. And health. And wealth. Come drink at the fountain of quit.

First, CONGRATS on a great choice, Denjr. Now, a couple of points...

1) Quit for yourself...no body else. For you, by you. That way, you won't be tempted to blame others when this shit gets HARD!!!

2) Luck has got nothing to do with it. You decide when to quit...and you control your quit. Not superstitions like luck.

3) You're damn right "COLD TURKEY" is the way to go!!!

Click on the Welcome Center link above and start reading. Learn how to post roll. Then post up, keep your word and live free!!!

Read all you can. Read the Tom  Jenny Kern story (bottom right of the page on the "Killthecan.org" link above).

YOU CAN DO THIS, BROTHER!!!
